Dutch TV item on Rubiks Cube/360

Funny that you already know the url for "missed episode" ;)

The TV crew thought the Rubik 360 would become a new hype, at least the marketing of the Rubik 360 works spectacular. Well it is a dexterity toy and not a puzzle, where I think it will be fun for the kids between 5 and 12 -my opinion-. I think it falls in the same category as cup stacking, which is quite popular in elementary schools.

Well we see...

The camera crew asked me how to call this came

well now in The Netherlands I introduced it in the English term (sounds better)

Rubik 360 (three sixty) I did not use the Dutch translation as this would sound like

Rubik Dree Hondert Sestig

Yeah, I just saw the video on NOS.nl before seeing this thread, but I was surprised that they are doing this item so late. I thought the 360 had already been released but I guess I was wrong then. Anyway, it's always a good thing to see that the press still ask Erik sometimes for their items, maybe that will get some more people to pick up their dusty cube and start learning how to actually solve it.

The stupid thing is: on http://www.nos.nl/jeugdjournaal/artikelen/2009/7/28/rondekubusnieuwerage.html Which is the site for the NOS kids news, they called it 'the new round cube' xD makes no sense at all. What made me happy was that the kids in the video also say like: 'I liked the cube better!' :D
Anyway, it became one of the better articles they did about cubing in my opinion. All info was at least correct, but sadly it was only on the late news edition...

Cool fact: they traveled first to Ton's work. Got the 360, went to Utrecht where they interviewed me. Then I saw on the youth news that they had a 360 in the studio, which is probably also Ton's since I'm not sure if there is even any other 360 in The Netherlands yet. And now they have to bring it back to Ton? Not sure if it was really his at the youth news... what a hassle for a 3 minute article :p

Well, I saw the 360 in Germany at a gas station.
Dont know why it comes to Holland in september:confused:
