My take:
"Reading is a good skill. The pacing of new information and comprehension is utilized in our brain nicely. The listening, speaking and writing skills do not increase our comprehension in a way which is useful for multi.
Reading is an automatic process where we identify the words, the phrase, the sentence and the entire story and build a comprehension. This is similar to what we do in MBLD where, we tracing and decode the letter pair/quad and then make a sentence for the entire cube and make it happen on the locus. In speed reading, the decoding process and imagining at the locus is not needed, so lesser mental effort is needed.
I think it is just better to practice MBLD tracing, n-passing memo, do multi attempts on new palaces rather than spending time on cultivating skills for speed-reading. That being said, speed-reading will definitely help improve our brain's habit to process new information and build comprehension on it. One major point of difference is that in reading we interact with grammar and actual words. In MBLD we interact with letter pair/quad and build a story with no grammar. So technically, both are different forms of information. Reading is what we hone for 12 years in school and also later, but MBLD story making (which is a different information set with no grammar) takes time to build and only actual MBLD attempts will improve our speed of comprehension."
Graham's take (taken from his discord, I will edit it out if copy this text is copyright violation):
"I think ideally I should be reading a book or something, which I used to do more but haven't done for a while I think reading a lot is probably a boon for MBLD
My theories are:

My theories are:
- because mbld tracing and reviewing is similar to reading, in multiple different ways, and
- reading probably helps with one's story making and imagination in general, and gives you more ideas for letter pairs and such"
