Finally did an FMC solve, and it wasn’t half bad for a first attempt. This was with ZZ, and I forced a good LL to end it, but a little disappointed I didn’t get a sub 50, but oh well. At least it wasn’t a 51 (which it would have been if I didn’t check for cancellations). Next time I do a solve, I’ll do more of a block building-based solve, as well as doing EO later in the solve
November:
1. Get better at inspection My inspection is not great, especially when people are watching me/ high pressure scenarios. This is mainly a short event problem, so I’ll work on making sure I can always one look at 2x2 in 8 seconds, cross+1 in 10 seconds, and EO cross in 8 seconds by the end of the year. 2. Determine my strong/weak points There are certain steps which I am better at (mainly 3x3 F2L and OLL, and Megaminx S2L) and steps which I am worse at (3x3 PLL and Cross, and Yau Cross edges). I will figure out exactly why I mess up the latter steps, as well as finding out why I am good at the former. 3. Learn an alg set I would like to learn at least one substantial Algset this November, and I’m debating between TCLL (already have a good source to learn some of the Algs), some kind of ZBLL (most likely T set), or a bit of NS (for @CubeLite). Ideally, I’ll start by the end of the week.
If you know me well (looking at you @Sombi McJunior ) you know I use either the Antoine V-Perm or the rotation-full V perm. I looked through my PLL list and finally decided to switch, and it was so easy!
I switched to the R3 V perm (R’ U R’ U’ beginning), and I’m having a far easier time with AUF specifically, as well as overall flow!
Soon I will look at my OLL list and change OLL 3 and 4, but that time is not tonight!
Ok, I lied about learning T ZBLL
I learned the standard COLL set of U (I’m gonna learn full U first bc more resources)
Im gonna drill it when i get to my hotel, and hopefully have a whole ZBLL set under my belt by the end of the day
It’s very fun to learn algs (I haven’t learned more than 10 algs in a short time since I learned L4E)
Ok, took a little longer than I would have liked, but I finally can recognize every case that I’ve learned so far quickly and do its alg very quickly. That’s one set of U ZBLL down, and 5 more to go. Onto backslash set!
Y’ALL WHAT THE FLIP YOOOOO

This solve was actually @precompsubwr or Yiheng solve ngl
Basically everything that could go well for this solve did (except maybe the ending but even that ended up being less cool cuz why do an A perm when you can do a ZBLL)

I wish this was true, after 1 week of not doing skewb, it took me 1 week to get to the original times, I don't even want to imagine how is going to be when I can cube again after more than 1 month
I am so good at 3x3 I can’t believe it I am just good I don’t even need to roll the average

It’s when you do one more solve to eliminate to first solve of the original average (the 7.88)
In this case, it wouldn’t be necessary, as I would need a 5.69 to improve on my average (I ended up getting another 7.8 solve when I rolled the average)

I also learned a bit of NS (like 6-ish) algs, and hope to use them soon in a solve
Got my new Christamas/birthday puzzles/kits really early!!! I’ve been having a blast solving with all of them, and have been getting some pretty decent times with all of them
First off, the cubes themselves. I got the RS3M V5 Ballcore, the Gan Megaminx V2 Maglev (UV coated) and the Aosu V7 Single-Track.
The v5 Ballcore been awesome to have. So far, my times are more consistent, albeit around the same as either the Rs3M 2021 or (especially) the Diansheng Solar (the only 2 other 3x3’s I’ve had for the past couple months). It handles rough turning super easily, and I haven’t noticed any issues with the turning (which is incredibly smooth). Definitely do not regret getting this cube, especially for OH, which i have dropped my times by a few 10ths of a second.

The GAN Megaminx is what I have needed for a while; a good Megaminx out of the box. The turning is unlike any GAN cube I have felt, being fast and light, while also having incredibly good stability. The cube is the perfect size, and the ridges along with the UV are incredible. I literally have dropped my times from low 58 to around a mid 53 since I got it Saturday. It’s an “absolute cinema” cube if I’ve ever felt one, no complaints. This cube is and has been a cheat code to getting seconds faster for me, and it’s possibly a Maryland SR-able record, at least for the average (high 49s).

Finally, the last cube I got was the Aosu v7. It’s a really good cube, great size, fast turning, not gummy, great shades (I will forever hate the MGC line of cubes for having crappy and inconsistent shades of green specifically). I haven’t broken any records with it yet (mostly because I’ve been practicing other events), but I did get a high 26 with this puzzle after a little break in, so this puzzle definitely has potential to get me a PB any given day
Moving on to the kits/pieces, I got the Meilong v2M LBL Ballcore kit, new pieces for my broken 5x5 and Squan, as well as a few center caps and a blindfold
THE BALLCORE KIT MAKES THE MEILONG INFINETEKY EBTTER THAN IT WAS AND ITS ALREADY A TOP OF THE LINE CUBE
The cube is so much more stable, and even inner layer turns are easier to control. Along with some extra Florian modding that I did while installing the cube, it is just better in every way possible. It was so good in fact, that on one of my first solves, I finally broke on of my biggest barriers in cubing to this point (imo). I got a sub 3 single (and a sub 3:15 average but who actually cares about sub 3:15 it’s not a round number).

Finally, I did some Squan, and I got this pb2 average, so I’ll say that’s pretty good
