bldcuber314's Progression- Averaging 45 on 3BLD?!

What the...

I just got a 15.16 with FULL BEGINNERS(75 moves + 8 rotations).

These steps- 1. Daisy
2. Cross
3. Sexy move to insert corners
4. Middle layer with 2 algs
5. Top cross with one alg
6. Permute top cross with one alg
7. Permute top corners with one alg
8. Rotate, sexy move to orient corners.

I had an easy step 1 and step 3, skipped step 6 and step 8. Beginner method PB by 6 seconds.

I don't want to keep posting but...

I did about 150 solves today, then decided to do some LBL solves(not Beginners, I can solve each layer however I want but have to do them one by one). Then 10 solves in, I got a 10.34 which is my best solve of the day. I had a huge hesitation before COLL, or it could have actually been a PB. This method is so underrated.

Some nice 2x2 solves-

0.84 PB3 single, and PB 7 mover(and part of 1.94 mo3 PB by 0.01)! It was an R layer into F R U R' U' F' CLL, but the angle I did it was different, solution was probably one of these two. One has a rotation, but I would have done that simultaneously during a move.

R U L U R' U' F'
R U x' R U R' U' F'

1.70 single, not a notable time but nice execution(9.4 TPS, I have multiple solves above 10 TPS but with even easier scrambles for TPS). I one-looked apart from AUF, but I realised there was no AUF as I did the alg.-

Solution- U' R' U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R2 U' R' U2 R.

Nuh-uh. I refuse to believe this just happened.

2.05 2x2 PB ao5!

2.48, (1.75), 1.87, 1.80, (4.27).

I don't have scrambles as I was warming up and not recording times :(. I got the same AS CLL( R U2 R' U' R U' R') on all 3 sub 2s so scrambles were just ridiculous. (Also PB mo3- 1.80)

My previous PB was 2.48. First I broke it with 2.44, then rolled to 2.17 then 2.05 which is just ridiculous. I was unhappy with that PB for a while though, great to finally beat it!!!

Also which result is considered better- 1:01 single in 3BLD or 2.05 ao5 in 2x2?

Easily the 3BLD. Anyone with lucky enough scrambles could get a 2.02 average, but you can’t really luck your way into a 1:01 3BLD single

Another sub 1 fail in 3BLD today. 52.90 with 18s memo, but I didn't memo in pairs so didn't realise I had parity.

But you know what, whatever! I can't get annoyed every time this happens. I made up for it with a great MBLD- 4/5 26:58. My previous PB was 2/2 14:xx from a while ago(which you can see from the time, now I could probably sub 4 a 2/2). The unsolved cube was 4 edges off, and I really didn't expect this accuracy!

Edit- Also for MBLD I'd like to do bigger attempts but only have 5 cubes 🤣 . I'll probably get some more budget cubes.

no way no way no way

I GOT A 7!!! First LL skip and PB by .75!!!

Generated By csTimer on 2024-07-20
single: 7.76

Time List:
1. 7.76 U B2 L2 R2 D F2 D' F2 U2 L2 B2 F U' L' U' R B D L' F' R2

I would also call this my first single that sounds like an pro solve- 7 sounds much more competitive than 8.

Scramble- U B2 L2 R2 D F2 D' F2 U2 L2 B2 F U' L' U' R B D L' F' R2

Inspection- z' y

Cross- D' L U' R' x' R' F R

1st Pair- U R' U2 R U y' R U R'

2nd Pair- U' y R' U2 R U' y L' U L

3rd Pair- U' d' L' U L

4th Pair- U R U R' U R U' R'

42 ETM(5.41 TPS), 36 STM(4.63 TPS)

Bad stuff- TPS, also didn't plan cross(hence R' x' R') and I could reduce more rotations using wide d moves.

Good stuff- Didn't choke, pretty smooth, didn't pause for ages at the LL skip.

Let's gooo!!!

So for reference around 3 days ago I was averaging high-mid 6s for Pyra, and a couple days ago dropped to around low 6. I didn't do Pyra yesterday, but then I did another session today and this happened.

3.71 ao5, down from 4.10.
4.39 ao12, down from 5.40.
5.35 ao100, down from 6.03(2 days ago) and 6.39(3 days ago).

These solves are primarily using LBL, as I was doing intuitive L4E earlier today and was averaging like 6 but then when I switched to LBL low 5s. I'm really liking this event at the moment, and might even consider making it into one of my main events!(Currently 2x2- 3.51 ao100- and 3BLD- 1:15 global although bad success rate)

It'd be great if somebody who knows about Pyra could tell me how these times translate to other events(like equivalent to 3x3 sub 15, sub 10 etc) and if I should consider having it as one of my main events.
