How much solves does it take to be Sub-3 on 7x7?
Becoming sub 3:45 and beyond becomes a lot harder when you are practicing just by doing solves. You need to learn new techniques like different ways to build centers, in edges you need to solve what you can first and bookmark partially solved edges, you need to become more color-neutral on edges, you need to preserve big blocks of centers when you see them, etc. There are many things to learn once you want to get fast.

I was able to become sub-3 on 7x7 around 8 months after i got my first 7x7, with around 500-600 solves (including untimed solves) and around an average of 15-25 minutes of practice a day.
