Best Cubing Memory?

Mine's probably still the summer camp where I learned cubing. I was surrounded by nerdy cubers, and our fastest cuber also got popular with the neighboring cheerleader camp and football camp.

Learning to blindsolve on a long plane trip and getting my first success is my best airplane memory by far, not that there's much competition.

My strongest cubing memory is probably from high school. My friend brought in his Rubik’s brand (which were definitely not as good as they are these days) and was solving with LBL. I had learned from the cube booklet a few years ago, so I asked if I could try a solve.

When it came to corner permutation, I realized that I didn’t remember the alg for cycling corners (sune btw). Luckily enough, I figured something out on my own (now I know that I did Niklas).
The rest from there is history - pulling out the family Rubik’s brand, surpassing my friend, learning about the big 4 methods (yes, it was 4 at the time), getting my first speedcube, et cetera, et cetera.

Many years later, Im finally attending my first competition, and I’m super excited!

Mid Atlantic champs 2024: it was such a fun and amazing comp, and I won clock which is still the best moment of my life
Ny champs 2024: it was sooooo fun, and I somehow won pyra by 0.01 which just felt sooo good
Troy story 2023: it feels like yesterday, this was my first ever comp and it was really fun
PBS in palisades 2025: it was super fun to hang out with my friends, and the comp really lived up to its name, as I got a ton of PRs and even 2 overall pbs officially, and I got a 2.81 official clock single which was crazy!! Sadly dnfed out of 3,5 avg in finals but whatever

PB in palisades open right? I don't remember seeing you in pb in palisades winter

Whether you have been cubing for 10 years or 10 minutes, what is the highlight of your cubing experience? For me, I just achieved my goal of a sub-10 average in competition after almost 7 years of cubing! It's moments like that that make me love the hobby and excited to continue, and I'd love to hear about yours!
my second comp was the best memory, it was a lot of fun, met some cubers, and stuf like that

I have a few:

1) Missoula 2021. Got my first sub-20 in comp. Max Park set something like 7 world records. Met Jeremiah Rummerfield, who is now one of my best cubing friends.

2) Grizzly Awakening 2024 - my first sub-1 4x4 in comp.

3) Spokane Summer 2019 - was setting up the comp a couple hours before the start time. A kid showed up with his grandmother, way early, because it was his first comp and he was excited. He saw me and said, "Are you Coachtabecubing?" When I said yes, he asked for a hug. Sure thing!
