I understand, and I think that you are right, and when I made it into this forum, I wasn't really all that great at knowing all of the specific brands, and which ones owned any other ones, and which ones are even companies or not. I understand now, but ProStar has been doing things like this on many different occasions on almost all of my threads. I'm sick of him telling me that my ideas to bring people together to discuss peacefully about a certain topic is 'useless.' So, although I accept that what you said about me being unnecessarily offended and being wrong about some things (like many other people have said) is correct. But I also feel that ProStar is being rude and over judgmental.
Hello, friendly neighborhood judgmental ProStar here. The only things I have asked you to do is follow the
forum rules; I’d recommend you read them. In addition to many other spamming rules, 2f states:
Please use the search function before making a new thread. If you find an older thread that is similar to the one you wanted to create, please use that thread instead of creating a new topic…
Thus, I have mentioned on a few occasions that nearly all of your “debate” threads (best cube company, best cube store, best YouTube cuber, etc.) are not new ideas and copies of them can be found all across speedsolving. These debates have been thoroughly hashed out and we don’t need to do it again. In addition the same applies to many of your help request threads (sub 5 avg 2x2 advice & help, sub 20 avg advice needed, four by four advice needed, etc.) do not provide any way that someone can give advice specific to you and your solving, and instead just asks “I’m sub x at puzzle y. How become sub z?” The forums have many many help threads. I’d recommend checking out many of the guides that are available (check the help and questions and guides sections), watching YouTube videos on the subject, and if you have additional questions then asking them in the
one answer question thread for that puzzle, rather than posting another empty thread that, given no specific information, will get a response of “practice and watch j perm”
However, as I’ve reread the rules I’ve remembered rule 1d:
If you notice someone breaking the rules, kindly tell inform them of the rules, and do it tactfully. If someone has already informed them, do not point it out again. Report the offending post if you must, but do not flame the poster; remember that notes about pointing out etiquette and rule violations are usually etiquette and rule violations themselves. Try to help other members, not hurt them.
And thus, I will cease telling you about the rule, since I’ve already done so multiple times.
I apologize if I have caused you any inconvenience or frustration; I hope you now understand my perspective. I will no longer “backseat moderate” in your threads. Have a nice day!
