Welcome! If you want a method for speedsolving that is good but most people don't use, you could try Roux or ZZ. If you want to try really wacky methods, the Speedsolving Wiki has a page with pretty much any method invented.

Welcome Zack! When I want to solve the cube in a "strange" way, I'm usually using (a beginner version of) yRUru. Have you heard about it? It is an RU reduction method.

The first step is making a line, a 1x1x3 block, to be held.
The next step is corner permutation. I'm usually just permuting them with R and U moves, and checking if two edges need to be swapped. If they need to be swapped, I have them in the RUB and LUB spots and do F R' F. Now the cube is reduced to ruRU gen.
Then I'm solving the BL and FL edges. Now the cube is reduced to rRu gen.
After that, I solve EO and the FD and BD edges. Now it's just RU gen.
Then I'm just solving it in whichever way I want to with the RU gen. LL can be interesting if you don't know that many RU algs!

I like strange methods for 3x3 as well, especially 5-style yo!
