I'm currently organising several comps that are yet to be announced. The most difficult part has been contacting a delegate. They get hundreds of emails a week, and picking out the good proposals from the bad ones can be very time-consuming. In the end, I one of my co-organisers asked the delegate at another competition if he could attend.

Apart from that, it's been relatively easy, and I would definitely recommend organising!

Haha, maybe. First I need to organise a Pyraminx main comp. You could try getting in touch with Oscar Hansen, and organise a Palmy comp with him. If you go to the WCA Contact Form, and select "Contact organisers/delegates of a competition", you can get his email address.

I wanted to do a Napier/Hastings comp or something but I haven't gotten round to doing anything about it

If you can find a venue first, that would be ideal. Have a look at the venue for Nimble Napier 2021. Feel free to send them emails asking them questions. I had a very long email chain with a venue at one point before they ultimately cancelled on me. :(

For me, it's living in NYC, where venue costs are absurd. It's hard for me to organise regularly because of that
That can be a major stumbling block. Thankfully, in New Zealand, we have an RO who cover the costs. Have you contacted CubingUSA or your state/city cubing authority for financial support?

I have been using Mid-Atlantic speedcubing for financial support in terms of organization.

It’s going to become non-profit soon so it will be a lot easier to organize when that happens!

anyway, I plan to organize once it becomes non-profit as I have a venue in mind that will work once it becomes non-profit.

I might want to organize an comp in The Netherlands with side events only, I was thinking of:
Clock
Skewb
Pyra
Megaminx
Sq-1

Now there is an venue in my city but its a bit expensive, so what do I do?
