I used to practice 4x4 a lot, and I averaged around 1 minute. I haven't practiced for a month or so, and now I can barely get 1:10. How can I get under a minute again?

I can sell you a magic potion that'll make you sub 50. It's called 'Practice'. If you take it once daily, and practice for 2 hours every day, you will get sub 1 minute in a matter of weeks.

I need help making my time better... I use reduction(6 edge pairing method) followed by fridrich F2l then 3look LL.

My average is about 3 mins and i think I've finished reduction at around 1:30-1:45.. the rest is all 3x3x3.. which i think i'll improve on one day..

In my reduction, my centers are very slow... about 30-40 seconds.. :( So i'd like some center solving tips please...

With edges i've been practicing looking forward so that's getting better imo..

So overall I'd like some reduction tips :)

Or if someone wants to suggest I learn a different method that's great...
try to learn Yau

Hi guys, trying to get sub 40 and looking for some tips.

I know yau and currently average 44-45.
I can predict at least the first center in inspection.
My cube is a poorly lubed thunderclap mini, I just ordered a wuque mini m.
I'm sub 10 on 3x3.
I know like 5 last 2 edge pairing algs, and maybe 10 special OLL and PLL parity cases.
I just learned the left flicking OLL parity finger tricks.

Any advice would be amazing :)

Turn less, pause less, and turn faster. (In roughly that order of priority.) Good hardware can also easily cut 10% from your solve times if you've been using a mediocre budget cube.

(Hint: you can get more specific and personalised advice if you provide more information, e.g. how fast you are on 3×3×3, a solve video, etc.)

I am super duper new to the cube scene (as in, a week), so I'm still trying to figure all this out. I have the 3x3 down, but I'm having a strange issue with my 4x4 cube, and I'm not sure how to fix it. Maybe I'm missing a step or something, but I have no idea what to do. I have the white and yellow centers done, as well as the green and blue. But the red and orange are being stubborn. (I can't seem to add pictures or video though? Halp)

It is possible that I've done something weird to the cube, as I messed up an OLL parity algorithm late in the game and had to start over. That and my general stupidity are the only causes I can guess at xD

If someone could help, that would be great, because I've been troubleshooting for like 2 hours! I'm a baby cuber after all haha

If you upload a video to youtube you should be able to link it here. Drag and dropping pictures usually works for me too.

You're being a little bit unclear with what is wrong with your cube; you just said that the red/orange centers were being "stubborn".

If you can't figure out how to add a picture, you could try re-creating your case on alg.cubing.net. We won't be able to help anymore than that until we know more information.

I posted a video! Sorry it's so quiet. I had to whisper :3

And when I say "completely unsolvable", I'm being a little hyperbolic. But y'know.

And thank you for reminding me about my phrasing. I had originally written the thread to go with my video, but I couldn't upload it, and didn't change the language

General tip: its easier to finish on 2 adjacent centres as you can see both of them right in front of you while doing it.

That's how I did it the first couple times, and I tried it on this one, too, but I couldn't get it to work

Hello, yesterday i bought my first 4x4x4 cube. 1.5 month with my 3x3x3 was fun and 3x3x3 was my first cube and it got me into cubing. So whats my probem, my problem is when i try to solve my 4x4x4 i got through reduction smoothly but when i try to solve it like 3x3x3 the problem happens with my yellow cross, it just ends up like this every time. And no F R U R' U' F' helps... I use this method for 3x3x3 (
). Is this parity error? I Googled them but it does not looks like :/. Thanks very much for your help :).
