Not sure if this is the right sub-forum to put this on but here I go I guess.

This cube might be unsalvageable at this point but I'll try my luck still. Recently my Aosu WRM locks up a fair few times, but only when I'm doing wide moves. After some trial and error, I discovered that this happens when the centre piece gets stuck due to this little protrusion from the core that's preventing the middle layers (centre pieces, to be exact) from turning.

I'd wager that this is because the core itself is not rotating fully with the layers of the cube that I'm turning, but it's still weird since this has only started to happen recently. Is there any way I can fix this, or is my cube just a lost cause at this point?

i have the exact same problem, take apart your cube and check for something like thisimage.jpg and fix the part that is broken with super glue or tape (bad option) if that glue isn’t possible. The center will probably get fixed for a while but while get undone eventually then u’ll have to do this again. It is kinda sad when this happens. I can feel ur pain.

Uh, that part isn’t supposed to rotate. The bottom part of the center piece is supposed to be locked to the core. That piece helps keep the cube from having weird lockups. The only part that’s supposed to rotate is the top part of the “center”.
OP can you send a picture of what’s inside the core, please?

Yeah cuz the cube is broke that is why it’s rotating

So I completely disassembled and reassembled the cube to do this, and it inadvertently kind of fixed the issue? No idea how that happened.

When this issue (inevitably) comes up again I'll follow up on this because I'm also interested on what could possibly be causing it.

Thanks for the suggestion still

good job taking it apart and getting it back together again!
pretty sure that is how it go fixed...

there are internal pieces for "centers" on even layer cubes like the 4×4

usually there is one big piece in between the screw-points of any two faces, and two snaller pieces, one above and one below the bug piece
:: these 3 pieces are found in all 12 such placements around the 4×4

so a good guess is that somehow you accidentally got one or more of these smaller internal pieces out of place and it/they might have got stuck somewhere that prevented turnong

I have had something similar happen
where only say the M slice middle turbs wouldn't go...
but the other axes would still work normal haha
