I almost forgot how we used to cover the cube after inspection.

Three twelves in a row back then was rather incredible, and this average was as far i remember more then a second better then the previous one held by Macky.

Thomas Kohn from Germany who was there was a bit of a special guy, he actually hitchhiked all the way from germany just to participate in this competition. I think i also later was in german TV-show doing some cubes OH underwater! Looking at his WCA profile I se that he stopped cubing in 2006.

Pretty impressive for the era, and cool to see. It certainly *looks* fast. It's funny that I'm faster than this now (and not even top 100) - but I attribute that mostly to improvements in cubing technology.
