3d Printed Speedcube (magnetized and stickering)

Alright everyone, I need to take about a week long break from this project. I’m getting pretty busy and I need to 3D print 8 new corners that I have remodeled. I can’t paint the internals until I’m confident with the turning. Sorry to make you guys wait. I really appreciate your guys’ opinions and support that you have given towards this cube. Hope to talk again soon.

Nice to hear you are getting back into it! What I recommend is sanding down the pieces to get rid of the scratchy texture on the inside of the pieces (which can reduce friction and make for better turning), and then sanding down the outside as well (I know it's already been painted, but hey) so that stickers can be applied better. That's my idea, feel free to say no, it was just something for you

thx for the tip, yeah, definitely need to do some sanding, but not too much else it'll wear away at the plastic structure. For the sanding on the paint, I might have to use an extremely high grit.

yea no idea what grit it should be, but that should help at least a little with the turning. Also make sure to apply paint evenly, and lightly. Other than that, keep up the good work! :)

Okay, progress is made along with some important decisions. Before I begin, I want to say that this process of 3d printing a cube really was an example of expectations vs reality. I told myself in the beginning that I'm a kid with fairly basic 3d printing knowledge and that this cube isn't going to be better than a meilong budget or qiyi warrior. Towards the middle of the process, I started really hyping myself up and maybe over planned. I redesigned a ton of the original pieces and painted the cube black with plans for a red internal. I was also hyping up the cube on this thread. Towards the end of the middle part of this cubes progress, problems were evident and other negative stuff was happening. School year is also coming to a close to finals and stuff are clogging my train of thought. So, I took a weeklong break from this project, only to return to more problems, Fastforward to the present: I have come to the conclusion that this cube is 3d printed... It will never be this competition main or flagship, and perhaps adding magnets will only slow the cube down... *sigh* this cube might not even have red internals since the paint would create too much internal friction.... There is hope still. I can completely reprint the cube in red and then paint the exterior black. This is something I should've done in the first place, and I'm sorry for making you guys wait. I also apologize for the poll I posted for you guys to choose the colors. Really, really sorry for wasting anyone's time. I'm going to make this thing eventually, and with summer vacation coming, things are going to happen fast.

Peace guys,
Thanks for the support and recommendations,

You are absolutely fine bro
You wasted no one's time and we all enjoyed this journey.
Excited to see the final result

Update: the cube is coming along well. The pieces are almost finished, but lots of sanding and micro adjustments need to be made. I also need to change a few small details such as the center pieces. I’m also deciding whether or not I should paint the cube black like last time or just keep the entire thing red. Time check: I suppose i am in the middle of the journey and am coming up on an uphill part.

Okay, I replaced the heating cylinder on my printer, and did a 5hr test print. everything is working again, so I assume the problem is related to the faulty cylinder... but this doesnt explain some firmware glitches i was having. I'm going to take things slowly, but eventually will come back to speed. who new building cubes was so hard man.
