Hey everyone,
1x1 wr holder here. I'm currently using my ender 3 v2 to print pieces for a speedcube 3x3 that i found on thingiverse (link below). This is not my own design, but I plan on making my own in fusion 360. I am 3d printing this cube to see if it is even worth it to design my own cube with CAD and then print it. As of 4/16/2023, i have one piece printed. i will keep this thread updated with news and pictures, and i would apprectiate some tips. I'm excited for this project! SEEYA in the comments.

Link to thingiverse file. (again, this is not mine. Creds to the creator)

How long does one piece need to get printed?
Might do it also thats why i ask
I suppose you have a 3D printer so I’m going to use some slicing terminology: At .15 mm walls, 15% infill and supports everywhere, it takes 33 minutes per edge and 35 minutes per corner. I print at 80% speed. As of now, I have not printed the center pieces or caps so I can’t say how long. It’s really fun and satisfying though to build your own puzzle. I slice in cura and my bed is leveled perfectly.

I have been looking for a good bed adhesive solution for keeping my prints stuck to the bed, and I found that applying a thin layer of the Elmer’s craft glue while the bed is hot works great. I’m going on 20 plus prints and not a problem or need to reapply. Any residue can be washed off with water since most classroom art glue is able to be dissolved in water.

Ever thought about doing any other mods to your designs, seeing as you have the design in a 3d model? TBH, you could make your own NxNs just by using 3d software (however, it would take forever - like the 33x33 which takes weeks)
To answer your first question, I am a busy person, but I would like to sit down and core magnetize either a xman tornado v2 or rs3m. In regard to your second inquiry, I am currently making my own 3x3 in fusion 360 which is a 3D modeling software. I’m still learning software CAD so my designs are slightly crude. It doesn’t take forever though, I only have to really make two pieces. The corner and the edge. How’s your Mgc project coming along?

Yea at the moment it's at a standstill. I'm waiting for my maglev sets to arrive ( I bought enough for 5 cubes and it was 9 bucks for 60 rings), and I need to get my prototype back. I plan to order from scs at some point anyway, so I will prob just have them ship it back with the order. I have not heard any opinion on the cube but Cameron said that if they stock it they will make a video. I have the first 2 cubes ready with out maglev, once they sell I will make 3 more, and just go from there. Thanks for asking!

I’m thinking about giving my 3D printed cube a nice finish. I’m going to starts with some filler primer, then sand the primer before adding another layer. I’m then going to hand paint each piece black with some mat enamel Testors glue and seal it all with a clear; plastic grade spray on coat.
I love Testors model paint, it works really well

Are any of your parts 3D printed? Will you get a share of the profit? How many cubes have you made altogether and plan on making?
