This was a triumph!
After messing around with some patterns I found one that resembles me the companion cube. It is technically, just a christmas cross + 6 spots.
Hold blue on top and red on front and do:
F' L R' D' U' L2 U2 B' F L2 U2 R'
(look at F and U faces, it resembles it a little.)...
Hey guys. I was thinking earlier today about the algs to solve parity on big cubes. These algs use slice moves, and can do things that are impossible on a 3x3, such at flipping a single edge.
I was wondering if this could be used to make OLL and PLL cases better. The advantage is you can use...
I have never physically touched a 4x4 in my life, that is how little experience I have with 4x4's. I just skipped straight to the 5x5 and I have decided to backtrack and get a 4x4. I've heard of some cubes that are good by the following brands:
1. Maru 4x4
2. YJ 4x4
3. QJ 4x4
Wanted to let everyone know about my newest item at Lubix Cube.
A Lubix Cube!
WHAT CUBE IS IT?
It's the DaYan Guhong pre-lubed with Lubix Cube Silicone available on my website here:
The Ultimate Lubix GuHong
I lube it with my complete lubing method seen here:
I wrote a tiny scrambler application in Java (3x3 only). Check it out: http://www.vanderblonk.com/wp-content/uploads/rubiks-cube-scramble-generator.zip
New: generates N scrambles of length L
Show: shows animated java applet for last scramble or selected text
Clear: clear list
Source code is in...

I'm not sure if this is the wrong place for this, but I'm thinking of holding a Comp in Canton (most likely) and was curious to see who could make it, just as a rough estimate. This will be in August (or am currently looking for it to be). Let me know what you guys think and if you could attend.
there have been a lot of threads for identifying cubes, so i thought why not put them all into one thread?
1. resize your picture (if any)
2. no spam. THIS IS NOT SANDBOX
3. Give as much description as possible or pictures of the mechanism. nobody could identify
your cube if you...
I noticed sometimes people announce that they're quitting or taking a break or are back or intend to change or something like that. Last time I said I might create a common thread for that, so here it is. Please no hate if someone posts his own thread instead of in here, this thread is just an...
PDF Version of this Guide - March 23, 2013
Welcome! This thread will be a guide to help you get faster at solving the Rubik’s Cube using the popular Fridrich/CFOP method. Please read this thread and do some forum searching prior to asking questions about becoming faster.
First off, the...
I'm just curious, who here is color neutral? I'm totally color neutral for speedsolving, except for K4 and K5,(but I'm not very good at either of those methods anyway.) I think that has a lot to do with how I first learned to solve the cube. I learned a beginner's method from a book from the...
A thread for accomplishments, hence the title, "Accomplishments Thread".
Just post your accomplishments here. I decided to make an accomplishments thread because they have one in TwistyPuzzles and I think it would be nice to have one here too.
I'll start: I've finally gotten around to...
I came across 2 different beginner methods. The only difference is the LL.
Solving the F2L is the same. But the LL is different. The phamplet i got when i bought my Rubiks cube saids to solve the right corner pieces with the same color, not precisely the exact spot then solve the top corners with...
