Cheers guys. Thanks for the heads up too Daniel, really thoughtful. But you're right. I haven't cubed in a long time, even though lately I have a cube on my desk which I solve everyday probably. If this goes through I might head down to UWA and check it out.
PS Curtin is the most beautiful...
I would recommend sticking with Petrus. Not many people use it, well compared to Fridrich, and people are getting faster and faster with it, whilst Fridrich is leveling off kind of.
Before I got my first megaminx (Christmas 07) I heard it was just like solving a 3x3, so star then F3L etc. When it arrived I found it all easy until the last layer. That's when I went to Erik's older site and learnt some new algorithms. Especially for CP. EO, CO, and EP and all mostly 3x3...
I wrist it and I find it a lot more efficient. When I'm solving for fun I do the ring/pinky trigger, and it falls into some timed solves. So I should stop doing it because it's extremely uncomfortable and inefficient for my style of speedcubing.
Also using your wrist would seem more adaptable...
I just use Frank's method. I experimented with AvG but it wasn't working for me. I probably didn't give it a fair go but Arnaud helped me with my 5x5 times when I was trying to get faster from ~3.00 minutes :) Now I average 1.40.
There are several good DIY's. You can't go wrong with a type (a). But I use a New Type Black DIY Kit 3x3x3 Third Model.
I've had several good speed cubes including:
1. Type (a)
2. Type (c)
3. Type (d)
4. New Type (a) Second Model
5. Japanese Speedcubing Kit (JSK)
No, I presumed you would receive one based on other online orders. I was just confused because it had been 4 days with no other notification. But I didn't take into account that I ordered just before the weekend, which is what Feliks cleared up.
When did you guys order them? And do you get an e-mail saying it's been shipped? Because I've only got the invoice from after I paid.
I ordered on Thursday the 11th of June. It's now the 15th. I was just wondering when (if) I'll receive an e-mail confirming it's been shipped out.
Thanks in...
