To be held in Norwich, England, on the 29th of this month.
"Laptop typing, mobile phone texting, Rubik’s cube and hula-hooping will be among some of the other disciplines at the event."
I'm not sure if...
Last night I overheard a conversation in which someone's friend was mentioned who could solve a Rubik's cube in under three minutes!
Shocked faces all round.
He apparently could also do it blindfolded, but that took "more than three minutes".
I was in a shop the other day, it kind of sells lots of novelty items, toys and games, etc. They had some 3x and 4x Rubik's cubes including a 3x out of the packaging for people to try. It was scrambled and I thought it would be fun if I solved it and left it there. So I took hold of it and it...
I'll have a look at 4-look LL stuff, thanks. Yea I make myself do intuitive F2L for the vast majority of my solves. I'll think about how I'm actually solving them. I know already but I mean I'll think about how to express it you guys.
Thanks, I'll have a look
I'll try to do that, I do...
Hello. I've been at this level for months now, I get 80-90s on pretty much every solve. My best time is 56 seconds in quite a lucky solve.
I can solve F2L intuitively, though I still find it slightly faster to do it LBL.
I then put in the LLO of the cross, LLO of the corners, LLP of...
Here's one for you guys: 66s 3x3 solve. BOOM!
It was a "lucky" solve in the sense that I had to PLL and OLL a lot less than usual. It was a big PR, 15 seconds off my last best time. <1min will arrive any time now.
I do it LBL still. I'm trying to develop an intuitive sense for F2L but for...
heh, well I just solved the first two layers intuitively for the first time :/
As for LLO then I would imagine I'd need to plan ahead while solving F2L to get a good LLO established, or else somehow use the keyhole (the last F2L corner-column to be filled in) a bit better.
Or not try to do it...
Just to clarify - I don't mean someone who solved it once, without help. I mean someone who can solve it over and over again, but who does not knowingly use any algorithms.
Allow me to clarify what I mean by "intuitively". Most of us here can solve one layer "intuitively", and what this means to me is that I solve it simply by following target pieces around the cube and being able to visualise a few moves ahead. I am not consciously using any algorithms (although...
Hello. I got a 3x3x3 cube for about 50p from a church fayre a few months ago and have got really into it. My best time so far is 82 seconds, and I average about 90-100 seconds, sometimes a bit longer. It's a fantastic thing, I love it. I have no doubt that I can get down to under a minute with...
