I got an MGC Square-1 the other day, and the D layer is just too fast. One flick can easily do a D4. I've already tried to put weight 5 in, but it ends up mixing with the U layer pieces and ends up being fast again. Any help would be appreciated

Both the single and average WRs for Square-1 are slightly slower than 3x3, but hardware is definitely not on the level of 3x3, and considerably less people focus on Square-1 compared to 3x3. .Based on the inherent nature of these puzzles, which one should be faster?
