I've been away from cubing and the speedsolving forums for three years and I'm looking at getting back into it, but would like to catch up on what I've missed. So, in the last three years (or there abouts):
What significant new techniques / improvements have been widely adopted?
What's...
Bournemouth Open 2011 (BOO2011)
Unfortunately this is no longer taking place, sorry everyone but the venue weren't able to do the necessary dates.
More UK comps to come though most definitely!!

After about 40 solves solidly with a short break for pizza:

Full step but with a pretty easy X-Cross. Not got the scramble unless Charlie's got it?
There's been quite a rivalry between myself and Daniel Sheppard (kinch2002) for quite a while now, particularly on the Rubik's Clock. After the UK Open we left with a national record each (he has the average, I have the single). Clearly having one NR each is boring and clearly I won't admit...
So my PB from a few months ago was 14.86, then last night after tensioning, lubing, and restickering my Haiyan Memory I got 14.58. Then today I decided to film some and got 14.61 on film.

Using this method you don't have to worry about the position of the M-Slice when solving UF and DB edges which I like a lot about it.
Unfortunately by using Old Pochmann for corners I only have...
Kinda similar to the CoD thread...
But yeh, I used to be semi-pro on CS:Source so I'm just wondering if anyone else plays it...?

My friend gave me a new puzzle today and I'm just wondering if anyone else has one and/or knows what it's called?
It's basically a long column with four sections, the outer two of which can rotate (the central two are fixed to one another) and it then has sliding panels.
You basically have to...
