I want to switch the core, screws, and springs of my type D cube, but two of the screws are stuck spinning in their orbits. The core is cracked in one part, but I got the screw out from where the crack was. They can't be tightened or loosened. How would I get the center pieces out?
I've got a loose enough cube, I think, that's not a problem. I can do U' and R just fine OH, but I can't do U without rotating to save my life. I push on on the left sticker of ULB, but once I fully extend my finger, the up layer isn't turned all the way. I can push on ULF, but it's difficult...
My megaminx came in yesterday, and I was surprised at how small it was. It's slightly bigger than a 3x3, but the pieces are ridiculously small. I have to wrist every turn; can't do fingertricks on it. I loosened it a lot, it pops sometimes and it's tight, but it's good.
I picked up my 3x3 a...
I was looking at the system, and it looked interesting. The F2L part, anyway, because you orient edges with the last pair. There's 32 short algorithms for orienting the edges with the last pair built, but can't it just be done intuitively easily?
With a Petrus edge flip approach, all you...
My type C came from DX, and one of the corners is a dud... it's missing part of two sides for some reason, in a weird V shape. So that piece is completely screwed. Plus I lost a corner cap because I'm an idiot and dropped it somewhere and can't find it. I could get a replacement piece for DX...
I'm thinking of using compound OLL, not sure if it'll be worth it yet though. If I can remember the AUF between EO and CO quick enough, I should be able to do the whole OLL in one look without pausing.
For adjacent edge flip, I just use the easy M' U M U2 M' U M. For the other two edge...
I haven't had many hobbies, really, but cubing is the only one that's stuck. I've stopped playing video games altogether, pretty much, games cost way too much. Plus you can't really bring a TV everywhere, nor a laptop. Nothing recently has caught my eye anyway.
After many solves, there's not...
I have an American Express gift card, and want to buy something on amazon with it. When I go to payment options, I can enter the number in the credit card field, but what do I do for the cardholder name? There's no name on the card at all. If I try to click continue, it just tells me to enter...
I'm making fused cubes, and me being an idiot, glued the cores together and tried to put the pieces on... and noticed I completely forgot to file down two centers. I can't do it while the cores are fused... I need to get them apart. I managed to break a few of the bonds by force, as they weren't...
Just wanted to know before I go buy some storeboughts. It looks like a fun and easy mod compared to the many super complicated (or ones I don't have materials for) mods. I couldn't find any tutorials to make the fused cube, and from Ton's pictures I can't tell if I need to cut a center or two...
From what I understand, F2L only stands for first two layers. I'm familiar with the system associated with said term, but isn't the specific method Fridrich F2L? Petrus F2L and keyhole F2L are also first two layer methods, are they not?
I've been using it for a few days, from being a former Petrus user. I averaged 45ish with Petrus, then I learned Fridrich F2L and decided that I liked it better. I'm not as good with it yet though, I average around 55 with it now. My cross is extremely slow and it takes me too long to choose...
According to several sites, they both occur at a 1/18 chance. I only know 13 PLLs right now, so about half the time I have to use 2 look. But two look or not, I seem to be using the CCW U-perm much more often, rather than the CW one, whether I 2 look or not on that solve. I'd say at least 5...
Most people who cube at my school use the vanilla layer by layer method. My friend and I use Petrus, and I think there's two kids who use Fridrich and average under 20.
I asked someone once what method he used, and he just said none, he figured it out himself. No guides, videos, anything. I...
I ordered an eastsheen 2x2, a white square one, and a type D (YUGA) cube.
I've never had an eastsheen cube before, but it feels extremely loose, but fast. Not disappointed at all. It's awesome.
The square one... WTF it is the stiffest thing to move ever. Even worse than all of my...
You know those Rubik's cube stands you get in a storebought?
Well... if you have enough, have you ever put four of them on a 3x3x3 to cover it? I was bored and was surprised that it fit perfectly.
Just wanted to check if I'm the only weird one here.
I thought they sucked for the longest time. I've had two previously, the first was good after being broke in for months, but was still slightly hard to turn. The second I got to replace that one, as it broke... the second one broke shortly after.
I just got another one today, and decided to...
I currently use the Petrus method. I want to improve my times, but don't know which algorithms to learn. I know most of the OLLs that can be done when all edges are correctly oriented; there's not that many and I'll have them all down soon.
The basic Petrus method basically has a 4 look LL...
