MF8 come up with a nice mecanisme for the square one which is, IMO, a really good improvement. WHat do you think guys about it ? Here are some links related to this puzzle :

Basically, this is about getting an edge matched with an adjacent corner on a randomly scrambled cube.
I'm usually not so bad at proba, but I get really stick on that one. I don't even know where to start :/ Any ideo to start with will be really apreciated :D
Everything is in the title. On randelshofer's website, the resource file given is for superset eng, which isn't really used on 3x3x3, and would prefer use harris eng notation.
Do you know where to find that file, and if it doesn't exists, how to create it ?
Hi,
I'm currently wondering if there is a way to create commutator for 5-cycles. Even if it's not as simple as creating them for 3-cycles.
I have no idea about how to do, but I'm pretty sure this is an interesting way to explore.
Hi guys,
My question is quite simple. How do i get a good square one.
Mine is just terrible. However, it doesn't come from the brand I guess (this is a mf8, and many cuber have mf8 that really doesn't behave like mine).
So what is your favorite square one model, and why ?
How do you...
OK, We have already discussed it here in various thread, and some of you have read some draft versions of the tutorial.
I think the tutorial is good enought now to be published in english. So here it is : http://www.francocube.com/deadalnix/DIADEM_en.php

Here is the question.
To be really effiscient in puzzle computing, it's useful to generate an index and build a transition table from an index to another for each moves.
For exemple, on a 2x2x2, we generate a transition table for both permutation and orientation of the corener. When...
Everything is in the title. I'm trying to figure a way to know if an edge is correctly oriented or not, and also to know which move change edge orientation.
At Den Haag open, I have discussed square one back to cube with Karsten Buitkamp. I told me someone have made a tutorial on youtube.
And I'm now unable to find this toturial, because I can't remember the name of the video maker and find out his youtube channel.
So If you know a video about...
Hi, I wantto start a thread about kociemba 2 phase alg.
The base of the method is largely explained on tthis website : http://kociemba.org/cube.htm
But theyre is a point that I don't get at all. It's about UDSlice coord : http://kociemba.org/math/UDSliceCoord.htm
I have understood how...
Yeah,
At least, with a name like that, I will get only specialists in this thread :D
The question is very simple : how do you predict the AUF you'll get during CLL recognition ?
I have discussed this with some friends, and we are all confused about this step and waste a lot of time for...
Speaking with some italians at WC09, I learn they use a « new type D » cube.

You can find a picture of the mecanism on this annonce (and buy...
We that we cannot permute coreners using only RU. We need to add another face like D, L or F usualy.
Diagonal permutation need 4 extra face turns, and and to adjecent corener needs 2. If you don't change edges orientation.
If you change edges orientation, you can permut corners diagonaly...
Hi,
Everything is in the title.
I have big trouble to figure hox to fix the edge/corner parity in freestyle cycling method.
I'm looking for some trick and tips ;)
I haven't found any thread about that. I think discution it there would help many cubers.
When we consider the numbers of emplacement for one type of piece, assuming that the same place with a different orientation is another emplacement, we find 24.
For edges, corners and centers.
Even on bigger cubes, wing, or any type of center have 24 emplacements.
24 is less probable...
I'm thinking to solve my 4*4*4 using VH system. I want to ignore the parity problem exept in the last step : ELL.
I found some algs on dan harris cube page : http://www.cubestation.co.uk/cs2/index.php?page=4x4x4/paritypll
But I'm looking for the cases with OLL parity. My research are...
Does anyone know where I can find his wonderful work :P ?
His website isn't online anymore (or it moved somewhere I haven't found yet). I want to look at his javascript "cube drawer" and solver for 2*2*2 and cross solution.
Does someone know where I can found the probability of occurence of each ZBLL ?
The difference between the most probables and the least seems bug and should be exploited to learn optimal solution only for some of them. A COLL/ELL in one look could be used for the others.
I'm trying to improve myself to big cube blindfold.
I use commutators to solves edges, but I find some case difficult. Fot exemple, when you have a 3-cycle of edges to do, but two of the 3 are in the UF slot (UFr and UFl) ?
