Actually I got it from a friend who has it for quite a while, but he isn't sure when he bought it.

    [Review] Qiyi Thunderclap

Hmm. My Thunderclap is rather weird. My tensions cannot be equal (meaning I cannot tighten each side by 5 turns) because if I do put equal tensions for all sides, some will either be loose or super tight, so all the sides doesn't have the equal number of turns but corner cutting is just about...

    What timer should I get?

Yuxin Timer if you want a cheap but good alternative, or get a Stackmat Gen 2 from eBay. Pretty cheap about 10 bucks for the Gen 2. Able to connect to Mac. Heard Gen 2 is the best timer as it doesn't glitch or reset unlike the Pro or Gen 3. Too bad it only has 2 decimal places, which isn't a big...

[Help Thread] "What cube should I get?" The Puzzle Choice Thread

The Thunderclap has to be broken in and set up to be buttery smooth and fast.

[Help Thread] "What cube should I get?" The Puzzle Choice Thread

Based on your description, I think the Thunderclap is the best one. At only $9, it's smooth and fast and fit for all turning styles. Feeling can be altered to be scratchy and fast or smooth, buttery and fast. The downside is that as its name suggests, it's exceptionally loud and clacky...

    Qiyi Pyraminx Spoilt?

I just got a Qiyi Pyramimx from a seller (not official) and realised it keeps popping every single solve, edges and a yellow-blue-red center. I tightened it tightly (so tight it's slow but still speedsolvable) and the center STILL pops. I can't find anything wrong with it but I'm guessing it's...

The v1 seems more catchy even with new center caps, and feels a bit more unstable but at the same time, a bit faster. The v2 is a tad bit slower, more stable, and barely catches. The small improvement seemed to have fixed some issues the v1 had, like the catching issues and unstability.

Is buying/using outdated cubes still worhtwhile?

It depends I guess. Depends whether you like the feel of the cube and does your times improve with it or the cube sounds like the one for you. When I was a beginner I had a Guanlong and Aolong. Like Aysha, I couldn't tell the difference between the 2, but when I start to get better, I realise...

Is Dayan 2x2 really the best 2x2 or am I missing something?

Get Dayan. Switch springs with Aolong springs. Dump a bunch of 50k inside. Done. Smooth and buttery. Maybe break in the cube first since the Dayan cubes all have that new plastic. Lingpo is just trash. After using my Broken-In-Old-Plastic-With-Aolong-Springs-With-50k-Dumped-Inside-Dayan for a...

[Help Thread] "What cube should I get?" The Puzzle Choice Thread

Hmm. My Thunderclap and Yuexiao (both setup the same way) seems to be different. My Thunderclap is very stable and doesn't flex at all, and isn't as fast as my Yuexiao. On the other hand, the Yuexiao is quite flexy and unstable, and very fast. I tried putting some weight 5 which made my...

Hualong is fast too and tends to overshoot. Tanglong is a bit blocky and locks up a ton (at least for me). I think Thunderclap is definitely the way to go. It might be slightly blocky but it definitely isn't as blocky as a tanglong or aolong v2. As Chris Olson said, you can pretty much set the...

Is the Gans lube the thicker one (bottle with clear sticker) or the lighter one (bottle with gold sticker)?

    Gans 356 v2!

It could be becauae of the corners. You know how everyone pulled the corner out to prevent catching? I think that also decreased the amount of friction on the pieces which is why it's much faster compared to the Gans 356s, very few people will bother to pull out the corners as the center caps...

New Cube Called TT-70 or T-70?

Saw this cube at a local store. Is this a new cube company? Cube is the one with circle centers in a white and green box with the words 'Magic Cube'. Reddit post with image cause i don't know how to add images: https://www.reddit.com/r/Cubers/comments/418b0c/new_cube_tt70t70/ Image link...
