There's a Pittsburgh competition coming up next Saturday. Any cubers here that are from Pittsburgh and going? It doesn't have as many events, for instance, it skips 4x4. I'm thinking about going.

I know there is a thread similar to this one, but I can't understand why I am not getting faster. My times are around 25-35 secs. I know full PLL and almost full OLL. I use intuitive F2L, though I know all the algorithms for F2L. My fastest PLL is about 2 secs(T perm). I think I use pretty good...

Has anyone ever thought of using Winter Variation for a 2x2? my idea is, solve 3/4 a face, use Winter Variation to orient the LL corners while putting in the last corner piece, PBL. Only I think there would be easier algs because you wouldn't have to worry about edges. I don't have Cube Explorer...
