All my puzzles:
Rubik's 3x3x3 #1 - lubix - bought off the shelf years ago (@2011) first cube I solved. Sounds nice, loose enough to be a bit quick, but never pops. Too bad the stickers are getting mussed up.
Rubik's 3x3x3 #2 - Lubix - Target - 20110900 was very stiff and slow. Lubed, turns OK...
Well, that went over like a lead rake, at least I tried it.
(it'll snag on stuff)
This is not for use while playing touch football or practicing military maneuvers, it's for when your hanging out with other nerds.
(you'll sit on it)
I do not sit on my side? It's a 3x3, not a fencing foil...
Objectively, and with no purpose.
This is a holster thread, unless you have empirical evidence of a holsters inability to keep a cube handy to fulfill the desire for a spontaneous solve, why should anyone care what you don't think about them?
I wanted to learn 2x2x2 in a hurry, so I found a system that only needs two algs. With some practice I got this memorized in a day and have solved 2x2 dozens of times. Could not find reference of it on speedsolving, so thought I'd share.
Here are the videos I found:
part one
part two

Thanks gang :} It is easy to make, just some 1" poly webbing, velcro, sewing machine, and a Futurama DVD to watch while working, took an hour to get it put together right.
I really thought this was original until I saw a "cube holster speed draw" vid on youtube, oh well, it was original to me :}
Could not seem to find a thread dedicated to holsters, so here we go. What do you keep your cube handy with? I was tired of dragging mine in a Crown Royal bag in my pocket so built this holster:
Yes ladies, I am single ;}
It's just two pieces of polyweb sewn together with some...
Well I'm pretty sure it was all n00b mistakes on my behalf. If I had to guess, I was not finishing sexy move, I probably saw the right piece go in, cry 'yipee' and move on no matter where in the process I was. Now I can usually solve every time, sometimes under three minutes. Thanks gang!
Hey gang,
After a few days of unhealthy cube obsession I was able to solve from memory and have been doing so for around a week. Right now I solve F2L then do some OLL to get the top put together then do sexy method for endgame. I can do that in a couple minutes. I want to get that a bit...
Thanks again asportking, I've no idea what I was doing wrong but I've managed to solve it a few times. When done correctly the mixed edges come together magically at the last minute. I'll keep practicing and see if I can get successful solves above 50% (and below fifteen minutes lol!)
Hello asportking, thanks for the reply.
I only rotate the cube when the method advises, which IIRC is during the "Three more corners" and at the "Final two corners" phases.
Everything else is tricks for sides or sexy move with U and/or D to line things up.
It is as bad as it sounds, I just can't finish Sexy Method for some reason.
I am reading the tutorial at:
http://cube.crider.co.uk/beginner.html
I have finished it a few times but there are always a couple stray edges in the solve. It seems to head downhill at the "3X more corners" step...
Is this the right place to ask about questions about the Sexy Method? I'm new and am trying anything to solve my cube!
I've been through Sexy a few times and can make it to "3x more corners". I turn the cube over and am trying to put the white/top face back together, somehow the top edges get...
Got my cubes today! First I lubix'd my storebought. Its slicker for sure, although I might have overdone it a bit.
The F3 is really wild. Seems almost too much for me, but I'm getting used to it. No lube today, its fast enough.
What confuses me now is two look PLL. I've been trying to do it for...
I'm not as sure about color neutral as I was a day ago; Mephisto's site explained it well, in that its a bit of work for only one or two less moves in solving the cross. I thought it would be neat to know in case I got my hands on an odd colored cube but I might skip it for now.
I am doing...
Wow, thanks for all the tips and stuff, gang :} Nothing like picking up another new hobby and meeting other people.
I will have to research the techniques suggested, might take a while, there is a lot to figure out for this puzzle!
For now I will probably use Mephisto's "Beginner". The other...
