Holding a meetup/unofficial competition somewhere I can attend* makes it much morel likely that an official competition might be held later.

We already have cases of "going higher", cases that were allowed at one point no longer being allowed at a later point - solved angle, inspection time, requesting orientation during BLD.
As well as other places. There's an email thread from about 13 months ago, title has something to do with...
For anyone interested, I've made a formal proposal to the WCA to change the regulations, eliminating scramble filtering for states with optimal solves of two or more moves* and making properly generated random scrambles final, disallowing retroactive filtering.
*Not an endorsement of...
Unfortunately, whatever the reality, the appearance is that Sebastien wanted to, if not outright hide, at least bury this information in scrambler documentation that attracts much less community attention than the regulations.

Pedro: You need enough scramblers so that there are always cubes ready for runners. For many of the events, while extra scramblers might be needed right at the start of the heat for the big group of cubes coming in together, most of the time two scramblers was enough.
In my experience, having...
No way, I'm still up there. Though I'm going to drop off now post-nationals.
Another request, who has been to a lot of competitions without competing much?
Number of rounds competed divided by number of competitions attended, ranked by lowest. For example, at US Nationals, Aaron Lester would...
What are you proposing for the "normal" naming? Do you want to go back to what we had before with Hao Wang 1, Hao Wang 2, Hao Wang 3, Hao Wang 4? What about when 张丽 and 章黎 compete on consecutive weekends, you would presume they're the same person? What about the next week when they attend a...
