  I'm turning much slower than before, but I still struggle to find pairs even if I track them. Do you have any tips on tracking pieces, knowing where to look, etc. Basically anything that doesn't have to do with being able to track pieces?

  An even better tip would be not to time my solves at all. If it's just to measure progress, I don't need to use it every time i solve the cube.

  I find that if I go timed, I feel an immense pressure to speed up, which messes up my look-ahead and sometimes makes me rush through algs and mess up.

  Hello, "great" cuber here. I currently average under 18 secs on 3x3. During my F2L process, It's actually quite difficult to find pairs. I don't look at my current pair.

  My times are still dogwater, but I've slowed down in f2l and my times are getting better. I got a 12.15 second solve and that was when I planned my first pair. I will practice planning first pair, hopefully I can get it down to 15 secs before next competition.
