Warm water softens up plastic. That's what I meant by thinner.
If you only use warm water, the core will eventually tighten back up. That's why you need the cold water to maintain the losseness (there are other purposes).
I thought this would be useful for storebought users. This is a way I made my storebought much looser.
1.Soak cube in warm water. Be sure to get all sides wet. Do this for 30-60 seconds.
2.Then, without turning off the water, immediately turn the water ice cold and briefly soak the cube...
