I find that it ensure that all pieces recieve some sort of lubrication. Whether it makes too much of a difference, I'm not 100% sure. However, I really like the way my 5x5 turns after the mod and lubrication.
I'd suggest taking it apart, and doing this mod
after you have modded the corner pieces, crc each individual piece and it should turn alot better. especially the clickiness on the outer layers.
Specifically on my Vcube 7.
The only thing I'm really worried about is losing this center cap when I'm solving. I know it wouldn't be the end of the cube, but I'd much rather not lose this piece. What do you guys suggest I do? I'm considering glue, but I'm not sure if I'll ever need to have...
