So my girlfriend was out going to garage sales and she found me an Alexander's Star :)
Anyway, I've solved the entire thing except for two pieces that need to be swapped on the top "layer" (The star made up 5 of pieces on the top is what I consider the last layer)
I'm wondering if...
My current PB averages are 21.76/23.59 for avg of 5 and 12
And these are my breakdowns..
Let me know if there's anything specific I should work on (as in.. is anything slower than it should be at this level (nearing 20 or sub 20)
F2L Average: 12.48
I bought an Edison Pyraminx a while back and it just really sucks at turning.
I haven't tried lubing it yet but I'm just curious if there's any way to loosen it or if I should just try to break it in and lube it
Does anyone here play around with or work with Photoshop?
I'm self taught and do some abstract type things, mostly with just brushes, filters, and layer mixing etc.. such as my Avatar for example (which was a very simple & fast project, but I have more complicated ones on another computer)...
I somehow quoted a post that was written after my post.. and I didn't edit my post other than to add the second line, lol
Also.. Does that count as a double post? Since technically I was answering a post that was...
So I was bored today and decided to learn Petrus
I know Full PLL and 32/57 OLL (So I know 2look OLL for Petrus basically)
I learned it from http://petrus-speed.netne.net/ btw.
I find that when I'm doing the 2x2x2 and 2x2x3 block I "cheat" and use "F2L" .. pairing C+E pairs, inserting...
Yes, I used the search function.
So basically I learned I've been doing it all wrong.. If I OH solve with my right hand I'm supposed to be using algs with L and U?
Although one member posted this:
And he seems fairly fast at...
Alright so I have a white DX 4x4... and stickers..
How do I take off the tiles? >_>
I'm trying with a flathead screwdriver at the moment :/
And my center caps fall out, I know you're supposed to "use paper" to fix that.. but I don't understand what's meant by that exactly.. how will putting...
When you've finished your F2L and you're moving onto OLL, and you have to orient the case in a certain way in order to perform the algorithm correctly, do you turn the entire cube (y, y' or y2) or do you move the U layer (U, U', or U2?)
After learning full PLL and getting them down, I moved onto learning full OLL.. and I find that I learn at an extremely inconsistent pace :/
People always seem to say that you should learn them steadily, a few at a time etc etc..
But I'll go a few days without learning any new ones.. but I'll...
I keep finding different information about these moves in algs..
I do M in the direction of an R
and M' in the direction of R'
However the Wiki says I have it backwards..
Yet all the OLL/PLL algs I use still work perfectly fine this way?
I suppose it's because the algs were written as r...
Please be sure to select one of the last two options!
I use the Big Cubes method for 5x5 but I'm curious to see if people use the same method for 4x4 and 5x5.. Since it seems to me that AvG would be much faster on 4x4 than just random pairing, so I'm curious to see what others do..
Yes sorry, another 5x5 thread..
I timed my centers and edges today and the times just seem really weird.. I feel like my centers should be faster with my edges being so "fast"..
Although I just do centers intuitively.. I don't really know that many algs or special tricks.. Any websites for...
So I'm going to my first official WCA competition on July 25th in Kitchener (Ontario, Canada)..
What should I expect?
Does the CanadianCubing "shop" have good stuff?
I kinda want to buy a 3x3 DIY since I still don't have one..
And a 4x4 that doesn't suck horribly .. stupid storebought X|
Is the mastermorphix just like a "mirror blocks" version of Pyraminx..? with centers I guess..?
Is it solved the same way as a pyraminx?
I want to get both but I was just wondering if they're solved the exact same way
I timed myself doing both methods..
I got the following;
I suppose I'm faster at Big Cubes.. but my look ahead just really isn't that great, and AvG seems easier on lookahead.. is there anything to help me...
I've found a silicone lube that works pretty well with my 3x3's but it does have petroleum biproducts in it.. and my 3x3 just broke when I dropped it on the floor.. so I'm guessing the lube isn't very "safe" to use..
The Canadian Tire near my house has Jig-a-loo.. I've heard varying...
1. when you're doing 2 at a time - What do you do when the "second working wing"** is the same color as your Front Left buffer center and [upper]wing? (**The one that starts on the front right bottom - then you do the d move [which moves the second working wing to Back Right Bottom] to match...
