Welcome to the forums! I also enjoy coding.
If you know LBL, then it's just practice. All I know is LBL and my PB is 3 seconds, with an average of around 12. I've been told you can get sub 7 with LBL if you practice enough, but you can get where I am pretty quickly.
Goal: sub 40
Cube: Moyu Weilong GTS3M (brand new, got it yesterday)
Comment: Sub 30! I got my first sub-30 solve a few days ago and now it feels like I've broken out of a slump. I'm improving rapidly, and if I graduate next week then I might go for sub-30.
Ao12: 29.93 (2/3)
These actually aren't unrealistic. I personally think it's definitely possible that a couple people will learn 1LLL, but I don't think it will become a common thing, because it has like 1,000+ algs. And over 100 of those are already known by anyone who does 2LLL.
Yesterday I got my first sub-30 solve, a 26.xx Throughout the next 50ish solves, I got 8 more sub-30s. I felt like I had broken through. Today, I dropped my Single time to 25.06, my Ao12 to 31.42, and SMASHED my Ao5 with a crazy low 28.56 (All of those got set in the same Ao12 lol) Just now, I...
Ok. I see all the posts, but I'm going to sum up all of them:
That's it. Literally what everyone is saying is either
"You need to be able to do PLL faster"
Both of those just come with doing hundreds to thousands of solves. There really isn't something in...
It honestly doesn't matter which cube you get. Any decent cube will work. Usually, when pro cubers(sub-10) use a worse cube(not Rubik's brand, just not a great cube) they only lose about a second on their times. When your still at a lower level(like me :P), all you need is a decent cube, pretty...
I literally got my first sub-30 solve today xD Here's a list of some main things I practiced/learned:
Cross - My crosses were really slow, time your splits(Cross, F2L, OLL, PLL) and see if cross is an area that takes a while. Use Feliks' tool on CubeSkills to see how your splits compare to...
