I challenge anyone to come up with a shortest possible way (please provide sequence or description) to flip all the 12 middle edges of the curvy copter. So far i am down to 72 turns but still improving. It is quite fun but aggrevating also ... ;)
Does anyone have the source code for this solver? Or even better a description of each of the steps involved. I have been getting queries about it, as i wrote an online PHP implementation many years back. I no longer have access to any of the code, Besides HTML of course ... **sigh**
I'm having issues with the gelatinbrain online applets. I cannot make them work on my windows 7 home premium laptop. They seem to start loading but end up empty on the page. Same problem with downloadable version. Not working. So annoying. Any clues???

Show that every even permutation on a nxnxn cube can be obtained by a series of commutators. If 2 consecutive comms is a single comm (somehow) then every even permutation is also a direct commutator. No restriction on number of layers used here ...
Find a way to twist (rotate) 2 corners with no side effect using only 2 faces of the cube. This is not too hard by easy modification of a well known alg.
Now do it as a direct commutator using only 2 faces!!

I haven't contributed any patterns in a while, so here are a few quite easy but nice ones.
1. Orthogonal bars.

(The last 2 patterns can be extended to bar equivalents, but the sequences are rather long.)
I just wonder what method you guys use for helicopter cube solving. I just got mine today, and i do corners first solving quite easily - though not fast yet.

Hi. Chris inspired me to come up with this variety of forced turn fewest moves challenge. Use this weeks challenge at http://fmc.mustcube.net and find a solution where exactly every second turn is a F turn. Noe tricks that i know will give a trivial solution based on a norm,al solution.
I challenge everyone to come up with a (useful) commutator involving only exactly 2 faces (or layers) of the cube. The good ones i know use 3 faces or more:rolleyes:
