Baltimore Spring 2010 Competition
The Baltimore Spring 2010 Competition will...
Do a 3x3x3 average of 12. You must do 2 solves using each color as your face with all of the corners completed first.
session avg: 20.92 (σ = 3.39)
14.39 W, 24.14 O, 22.75 R, 23.41 B, 17.08 Y, 24.92 G, 24.30 O, 22.27 G, 21.83 B, 13.52 W, 16.39 Y, 22.64 R
Things to work on:
1. Gripping a bar with weights or bodyweight
2. Gripping bricks
3. Fingertip Pushups
Never clumsily drop your cube again!
Faster turning speed!
My form is not perfect, but you get the idea. That's why I'm not the fastest.
I would like to...
For most FMC solvers, finding a 2x2x3 less than 10 moves is often the first step to a solution. I usually try to build several random blocks several times and usually achieve it after applying a premove. However, that is not the way
Johannes Laire's cube solver ( http://laire.dy.fi/jarcs/...
I practice computer 4x4x4 more than any other type of speedsolving. I'm at around a 70s average with around 20s centers, 25s edges, 20s 3x3x3, and 4s OP, 2.5s PP. I have a problem with real cubes. I get around 110s average with 22s centers, 55s edges, 25s 3x3x3, and 5.5s OP, 3s PP. I practice...
Although I will not be there, I am very excited about this competition. That is my hometown. I might ask my grandparents, uncles, and cousins to go take some videos for me. (The venue is less than 20 min away from them.) I wish...
Finally got back my SAT score from the March 2009 test.
Bad, probably one silly mistake
Not great, but not bad. I guess this is it? Or should I take it again in June?
Anyone else took the SAT this year?
When solving BLD, I always have Blue at front and Yellow at top. Sometimes, my buffers "UBL" and "FD" are solved. If any other piece would be solved, that's good, but when these 2 pieces are solved, that actually adds one more item for me to memorize and solve. It's pretty annoying, but could be...
The idea behind this method is the same as R2 (actually, I use U2).
For R2, you solve 1 piece at a time, but there is that confusing toggling of the R layer (or U layer in this case). For BH or TuRBo, it just isn't easy for me to learn which sticker cycle associates with which alg. Why not just...
I'm trying to get decent at K4. I can do it in about 3min now compared to 1:30 with reduction.
I learned about the method from Fallofshadows and Pembo on Youtube.
I do Opposite centers, 3 edges, all centers, pair 4th edge, Solve 1st and 3rd layer using Fridrich, insert 2nd layer, CLL (2 look)...
This weekend, my cubing club teacher just random got a cube and solution booklet in the mail. He didn't order it or anything, it just came to him for free, probably because he is a math teacher. It came from http://www.youcandothecube.com/
The logo sticker says "you can solve the Rubik's cube"...
I have a ES 5x5 and my turning speed on the 3x3 stage is horrible. Cross is really bad 5s compared to the usual 2s. F2L is OK, at least sub-20. But LL is horrible. It takes me about 9s to do the G perm rather than 2s on a 3x3. The layers always misalign and everything locks up. What can I do to...
