Hi coders! I want to get into coding, and I’m wondering what language I should learn first! I already know scratch which isnt even a language but just to inform that I know the most basic one.

It depends on what type of coding you want to do. Different languages will help you do different things.

HTML/CSS(You need both): Used to make websites
SQL: Used to make databases
JavaScript: Used to animate websites
Python: Used for practical tasks(Renaming/moving files, gathering a bunch of similar information from one place, automation, etc.)
C#/C++: Video Games
Java: Video Games

There are more, but those are the most common ones. Understanding Scratch will also help you grasp the basic principles of coding. Once you've learned one language, you can usually understand any other one easily.

I’m feeling I should learn:
python first
HTML/CSS second
and java
and then whatever else I wanna learn.

That would be good, python is pretty easy to learn, and its syntax is very nice, at least for basic things.

@Cubinwitdapizza If you learn HTML and CSS second, consider learning JavaScript before Java because then you can add functionality to your websites. Also Java can be a real pain sometimes
