@Pyjam I challenge you to use the Mehta method and get a sub 40 movecount on your next solve

I'm pretty sure this is my lowest move count ever for a speed solve. :)

Method: Started block building expecting to do CFOP/FreeFOP but it became more of a Roux solve.
I'd love feedback on anything (FB, SB, 4c...). 8 moves for FB is unusually good for me.

44 STM (CP skip helped)

R' L' U2 R2 //Square 4/4
U B2 //Square 2/6
Dw' M2 Dw R' U R //FB in 8 moves 6/12
U F' [L' U' L U] F [L F' L' F] //SB in 15 moves 11/23
y' M U M //4a & 4b 3/26
U2 F R' F' R U R U' R' //OLL 9/35
U2 M2 U M U2 M' U2 M2 U' //4c 9/44

EDIT: Since all of my posts require moderator approval, my solves never make it into the thread quickly enough. :( When does this restriction get lifted?

I have no doubt it's a promising method but I have no desire to learn a new alg set (or two).

Anyway... ;)

UPDATE: See below the definitive solution.

Ah, ah, I knew I can do better. :p

THE DEFINITIVE SOLUTION:

y2 F' R' F D' L y // FB
R2 U R u2 R2 u' // F2L-1
L U' R2 U L' U' R2 // corner permutation
U' R' U R U2 f R' f' U' R' // Last slot, last layer

28 HTM / 28 STM

Good method. ;)

Is that some VLSEP? Is that even an alg set? either way, that was an incredible solve.
It's an alg I built for the occasion.
It's not in speedcubedb F2L-34
It would be an extension of CLS with disoriented edges (216 cases with the last corner on U with this orientation).

For hardcore speedcubers only. ;)
