I honestly think that the new line is unnecessary, as that's like making a new line with each new lube. The Angstrom line is useful because it uses mainly one specific kind of lube. I think that mystic should be like DNM-37, with it being used as a complimentary lube to all lines. The other lines besides the ones I've mentioned, (cubicle labs, cubicle pro shop) are justifiable with the labs line using mainly magnets and pro shop using OG lubes.

They have to have a separate line for mystic because mystic is derived from aloe, which some people are allergic to. They can’t put it in the normal lines as a result!
I've never thought about this, but wouldn't this be a problem for a scrambler at a comp if they're allergic and they come into contact with loads of different cubes, some of which might have Mystic?

It most likely would be a problem. Mystic banned soon? I mean next we'll be using peanut oil as a lube, which can be deadly to people.

Because of that, I feel like that wca has to make a new reg on allergies, I'm going to send an inquiry on this problem. Thanks for realising this

I have over 30 severe environmental and food allergies to the point where i’ve been to the er but tbh i don’t think this will be as much of a problem because lubes like mystic barely ever come out of the cube and also because people can wear gloves. Aloe allergies are very rare i’m allergic to cockroaches and dust mights but not things like aloe

You're allergic to dust mites? Aren't they everywhere?

Technically, someone with a dust mite allergy is allergic to their dropping, which get desposited inside pillows, cushions, couches, carpets, etc. etc. Exposure is not usually terribly bad, unless you never vacuum your house and suddenly decide to mash your face into a 10 year old pillow and inhale vigorously.

But yes, dust mites are everywhere. So is pollen and many other allergens.

This was the first thing I thought about when it was announced. I do hope WCA does something to take lube ingredients into account

Just an update on the reg situation, Lauren Clement told me that it's up to the people who have those allergies to contact the organizers of the comp to work something out
