General Speedsolving Updates
October is right around the corner, and the last quarter of the year is about here. 2012 has been quite the year so far at speedsolving.com, as well as speedcubing as a whole. The WCA is growing, records are becoming more and more competitive, and more competitions are being organized. It is a good time to be part of such a diverse, yet connected community.
In October, Feliks Zemdegs dominated yet another competition and broke the World Record for 3x3 average (7.53 seconds), 4x4 single (26.75 seconds), 5x5 single (51.09 seconds), and 5x5 average (57.64 seconds). Mats Valk broke the European Record for 3x3 average (7.77 seconds). Lin Chen set the World Record for 7x7 single (2 minutes, 41.63 seconds), and 7x7 average (2 minutes, 56.85 seconds). Congratualations to you all on setting those impressive records!
