General Speedsolving Updates

May is about over, and another month has already passed. Just a few sitewide updates and speedsolving happenings in the last month. Firstly, if you haven't noticed, we have moved the wiki to its own standalone site. It was like this a couple years ago until we decided to merge the login databases. However, this has caused some issues and has haulted the developement of the site, so we've put it standalone once again. Because of this, you will need to create a separate account on the wiki if you want to edit. Your speedsolving.com login will not work on the wiki. Please checkout this post for more info.

In early June, we will be upgrading the forum to the latest version of vBulletin. We will do this at a low traffic time to minimize disruption. Expect around 20 minutes or so of downtown. The new version will have some nice new features to make the forum much better. Look out for an announcement on this in the coming weeks.

In May, Asia Konvittayayotin (Thailand) broke the Asian record for 5x5 average (1:06.36), and Nipat Charoenpholphant (Thailand) broke the 3x3 average Asian record (8.38 seconds). Yu Nakajima (Japan) then broke the 5x5 average Asian record with 1:05.05, and Yumu Tabuchi (Japan) broke the 3x3 average Asian record with 8.25 seconds. Kevin Hays (USA) broke the world record for 6x6 single (1:49.46) and average (1:55.13), and also broke the North American record for 5x5 average at 1:05.01. Cornelius Dieckmann (Germany) broke the 3x3 average European Record with 8.21 seconds. Congratulations to all of them for their accomplishments!
