Probably not, but look-ahead is fine.

[Help Thread] Best 3x3x3 Speedsolving Method

I haven't done Waterman in a competition because I kind of live in the middle of nowhere. My fastest single with Waterman is somewhere around 8 seconds, but it had two skips (I think CLL and the very last step). My fastest average is probably close to 13 seconds. I'm not actively using Waterman...

[Help Thread] Best 3x3x3 Speedsolving Method

I believe Josef Jelinek also used Waterman, but I'm not sure. I use Roux as well as Waterman now. I'll probably go back and learn the rest of the algorithms and optimize them one day.

    [Review] ShengShou FangYuan

I bought this cube from Speedcubeshop during their labor day sale for $8.95. Out of the box box, the cube was very catchy, had poor corner cutting (30 degrees). It also had an awful spring noise on two or three sides. The other reviews I've seen also mention this spring noise. I broke the cube...

[Help Thread] "What cube should I get?" The Puzzle Choice Thread

Obviously that's not what I meant. I do not like the Dayan Zhanchi. Given this fact, what would be a good megaminx to add to my collection? I don't want a megaminx that feels like a ZhanChi.

I want a new megaminx. I don't like the feel of the Dayan Zhanchi. What's another good choice for me?

    What Method Do You Use?

Method: Watermelon Time: Average 13-ish Why: It's a method that I know. Why I think it's the best: It's not the best method. What I think Someone can learn from this method opposed to others: blockbuilding the first layer, about 90 algorithms, the difference between a fruit and a speedsolving...

    [Unofficial] SirDuctTape 3x3 AO5 30.24

There is NO reason to focus on "accuracy". In fact, I'd probably say pretty much the opposite. You should be trying to take advantage of a cube's performance. If the cube cuts 40+ degrees when you're turning, it makes no sense to spend the time making sure the layer's are lined up. Accuracy is...

There's no proof that having a fast cube as a beginner will necessarily make your times worse. In fact there are some obvious advantages of starting out with a good cube. For example, you'll be less likely to get repetitive strain injuries. The whole idea that a beginner should use a beginner...

    The One-Answer Question Thread [closed]

When doing 3bld with M2 for the edges, I'm having a bit of trouble with the M-slice. When the buffer position (FD) has an edge that's supposed to go to BD, you're supposed to do M U2 M U2. Now lets say the cubie in BD needs to go to UF. You're supposed to do U2 M' U2 M'. Obviously, that cancels...

Funny. I hated the MF8, and loved the Calvin's puzzle square-1.
