I sort of meant that it was just pure blockbuilding; no NISS or premoves or fancy stuff. Pretty easy to see even if you don't know any FMC techniques. But yeah, probably should have clarified :)
Here's a completely intuitive 31 (despite one insertion) that i found in 20 minutes
s: B2 F2 D' L2 B2 D L2 B2 D' L2 U' R F' L2 D2 B' D B F U
D2 B F D F' L2 F' L D B D' B' D' L' D2 F L' F' D L D' @ B' D' B
@: D' F U2 F' D F U2 F'
sol: D2 B F D F' L2 F' L D B D' B' D' L' D2 F L' F' D L D2 F U2...
Doing an insertion with his skeleton gives a 29 FMC
Scramble: F2 R2 D2 R U2 F2 U' F' D L B' F D L2 D' L2 F U
Solution: B2 R' U F' B2 D' B2 R' B' R B2 R B2 L' B R' B' L U B2 U' B2 D' B' D U B2 U' B
You should be able to vaguely follow along with that solution with it still looking like CFOP
Time increases like these are common and are certainly not permanent. Here's a few tips:
1) Don't set your bar too high. Instead of being disappointed with 14.3 second solves, allow that to be the desired time and be happy with faster 13.7 solves.
2) Take a break. This is surprisingly effective...
Yeah I'm certain people's valks are way better than mine, mine's terrible and I have no other cubes lol (what r magnets lol)
I mean Jack Cai knocked it out of the park but yeah the other results weren't great. Kinda still a bit ticked off that I missed easy opportunities to podium/win in bigBLD...
Secret to dropping a whole second off your 3x3 averages: ditch the valk, use a thunderclap
highlights of my first actual session in forever included an 8.85avg5 and 9.85avg12
