1. ### What is the easiest WCA event to get world class at?

I’m not a bookie, but if I was I would put the chance of WCA going through with eliminating feet at about 35%. All the arguments for keeping it are sound logical reasons, and the arguments for eliminating it boil down to “I don’t like it.”
2. ### What is the easiest WCA event to get world class at?

This is why it’s really hard to get world class on these puzzles. There’s also the issue that most people who are world class or anywhere close on these puzzles are using close to the optimal solution the majority of the time, meaning that TPS is much more important than for more complex...
3. ### What is the easiest WCA event to get world class at?

I have larger than average feet, and I feel like my 68mm Big Sail is on the large side of optimal. When you’re first learning to turn with your feet bigger cubes offer a little more flexibility, but as you get better I feel like all sizes of feet will likely converge with an optimal size in the...
4. ### What is the easiest WCA event to get world class at?

Mostly toes. Personally I use a Big Sail that I restickered with a high-contrast scheme and magnetized with very strong magnets. I don’t have one, but in my observation the GTS3M should be an excellent stock cube for Feet. I believe that the ideal foot cube would be about 60mm, and have ridges...
5. ### What is the easiest WCA event to get world class at?

@GenTheThief is absolutely right: feet. I think I’ve done maybe 5-600 timed solves and average around 1:35-1:40, my 2-hand 3x3 average is only around 27 seconds, but with another 500-1000 solves I believe I could get my feet times down under 1:00.
6. ### Older cubers discussions

I like reading this thread, but I haven’t had much to add of late. I got some new puzzles a couple weeks ago: - YJ Yulong v2 m is a good 2x2, mostly I’ve noticed faster execution with the few 2BLD solves I’ve done. - Yuxin Little Magic 8x8 turns very nicely, but it’s very big, not really...
7. ### 3x3 With Feet Getting Removed

Arguments for changing the event list should be very strong. Arguments for keeping it the same should not need to be nearly as strong.
8. ### 3x3 With Feet Getting Removed

Keeping Feet for the sake of disabled cubers is one of the weaker arguments for keeping Feet, but it’s a valid one. I personally know one cuber who because of a congenital condition only has one fully functional hand. He could compete in OH on a level playing field, but why limit him to one...
9. ### [Help Thread] Big Cube Discussion (5x5 / 6x6 / 7x7 / etc)

The 6x rule of thumb is about right, but not by any means a hard limit. I average about 27s on 3x3, and about 2:25 on 5x5, or a multiple of roughly 5.5.
10. ### 3x3 With Feet Getting Removed

If instituting special sanitary rules is what it takes to keep feet, fine, but there’s already an unwritten rule: are your hands gross? Wash them before competing. Feet? Same. Feet are not inherently gross any more than hands are. Both can get nasty, and both need to be washed from time to time.
11. ### 3x3 With Feet Getting Removed

Feet solving works best with a different kind of puzzle than works best for hands anyway. I practiced with my Rubik’s brand, then magnetized a puzzle to get one exactly the way I want it specifically for Feet.
12. ### Upcoming puzzles

It’s available for pre-order from TheCubicle for $10, non-magnetic for$8.
13. ### Please take my survey regarding gender in cubing!

Fascinating. The color blindness hypothesis makes sense for Megaminx, and maybe even for feet. My first official feet solve I messed up because I confused colors. No idea what the difference would be for clock. But hey, more representation for female cubers, sounds like yet another great...
14. ### Please take my survey regarding gender in cubing!

If you look at the top 10%, and 18% of females with megaminx averages are in that top 10% then females are relatively better at Megaminx. If the numbers in the top 100 were closer to 20+ that might be a good indicator, but saying that 1 of the top 100 3x3 averages belongs to a female doesn’t...
15. ### Curvy Copter Discussion(New)

This may be a stupid question, depending on the answer. My curvy copter has been scrambled for a while, now I’ve got it back to two corners swapped but oriented, and one edge flipped. This feels like it shouldn’t be a solvable position, but I’m not sure. Do I need to solve it with jumbling, or...
