    A Collection of Algorithms

I didn't know where to stick this comment... and I am not really sure if it qualifies... but I stumbled upon a 10-move J-PERM. But it isn't a J ... Perform a standard J-perm(b) on a solved cube followed by U', and that is the pattern this will resolve. With the two "correctly positioned" cubies...

Guiness World Record - Most Rubik's Cubes Solved While Running a Marathon [video]

You beat me to it! I had been gearing up to make this attempt for a while. My first attempt last October went bad, and I ended up running without solving (4:28:55). My plan was to attempt 500. I would have held the record for about a month. But it kinda seems pointless now :-( ... BTW...

    Albany (NY) cubing

I've noticed several users from the Albany (NY) area posting on this site... but I never see any gatherings in this area ... and I don't like driving! So I thought I'd start a conversation and see if anyone is interested in getting together to talk cubing and if there is enough interest...

I invented a sticker mod to the 3x3x3

I just found a thread that talks more about this kind of thing... including a band-method for the 3x3 similar to one that I came up with based on this 3-color concept combined with solving a 3x3x2 domino. That thread is http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showthread.php?26875-Belt-Method ...

I invented a sticker mod to the 3x3x3

I made a sticker mod that is.. well... really simple to solve. But I've found it useful in thinking up new ideas and also helpful in teaching beginners basic concepts. Anyway, this looked like a good place to "stick" it. Layer 1 : all red stickers (21 stickers) Layer 2 : all white stickers...

    A Collection of Algorithms

I thank you for directing me to the right place. Still trying to find my way around :-) I further thank you for clearing up the M' = 2 moves. I hadn't thought of that because it is done with a single finger-flick (center turns 1/4 turn)... but I can see your point... it is the same as an R L'...

    A Collection of Algorithms

I haven't seen this written anywhere, but I've got a 3x3 PLL sequence that I use for "F" ... can anyone tell me if I'm just using something someone else already uses? I looked on the WIKI here, and I didn't see it. Also, it says that the "Optimal Moves" is 14 ... but this sequence is only 13...

    What times make you good?

This is my first post on this forum, so please be gentle. I've been cubing for 20+ years... longer than most of the top-ranked competitors have been alive. My personal best time is 15.86, and it is still fairly uncommon (maybe 1 out of 5) to get sub 20. I consider myself to be fairly...
