Cube: Dayan
Method: Full EG (CLL, EG-1, EG-2)
Website: Cyotheking.squarespace.com
Timer: Fivetimer

Should this be counted like a stackmat? To me it's almost the exact same. Maybe a little slower seeing as my right hand has to come back so far. Opinions?

That timer stop is awesome, I've never seen anything like that before!

IMO yes it should be counted like stackmat, it is extremely similar (you can argue for subtle differences that would 'make it not like a stackmat' but they are minuscule.)

Congrats :D

Should I hold my left hand flat then? Like a stackmat?

Edit: I might be able to pick up the cube with my left hand quicker, but what good does that do me if my right hand isn't there? Unless the first move is a U'

I did frame-by-frame. Only found one suspicious (but not conclusive) frame from the 4th solve (see spoiler). The rest of the solves were pretty much the frame that you touch the cube is the frame that you lift off. Even if you aren't ever touching the cube before starting, it's clearly an advantage from a stackmat. Nice average anyway :)

Are you sure the scrambler is good?

I think it is. These just happened to be a super nice set of scrambles.

Wow that is a pretty crappy start. Would it be acceptable if I hold my left hand flat?
Because I'm too broke to go and buy a new stackmat. Haha.

Use fingertimer! Or check eBay. I think I already bragged to you about finding a gen 2 timer with data port and a mat and cups for under $30 :D

Yep the scrambler is good.

I don't think so.... If this WAS in competition a lot of things can screw up. If not, use it however you would like.

By the way, I think you should change your signature. There was a post on the WCA forum regarding the WR issue. I think it got counted as WR

Regardless of whether or not it's the same thing as stackmat timing, this is stupid fast. It was always only a matter of time before 2x2 got to this point-- nice.
