Thank you so much for the kind comments, they are really appreciated.

Turn speed is an issue to me, too fast and I lock up badly .. like really badly :) Trust me mid forties hands take a lot of persuasion :)

Watching it back I can see so many pauses and whilst I try and look ahead I need to learn to sort lookahead at this TPS.

I average ~16.3 Ao100 but I refuse not to get sub 15 :)

PS: Sameer: Your solves are just awesome, seems my last comp was before your first. I'll registered for August Bank Holiday comp if you are going, would be great to meet :)

Good job man! i think we need older cubers like you in the community. I mean younger cubers are great, but 50 9 year old cubers at a comp with 70 cubers gets a bit annoying.

Thanks Carbon, love attending comps but as you can see from my WCA profile it been far, far too long.

I enjoy watching the younger folk, watching them helps my own TPS.

A bonus of being my age is determination ... I will be sub 15 one day :)

You give me hope. I'm 43 and not yet sub 30s. I believe I was the oldest at WGC by over a decade. The judge on my first solve looked young enough to be my grandchild.

Thanks for posting, gives encouragement to us other 40-somethings. You're right about the hands needing persuasion :)

What kind enough of practice did you do to break your plateau?

I've registered as well so there will be at least two over 40's competing. :)

I'd have liked to have done the WGC event but I had other commitments. Maybe we'll both do a future event!

@Mark. Any desire or curiosity to attend an event yet? ;)

IMO I don't think age has that big an impact at this stage. Age will only affect TPS, but you don't really need TPS at this stage (or later, look at Edouard Chambon)

Nice. You're about the same speed as me, but you'll overtake me soon.

Oh, speed stage, not age stage. Yeah I'm dumb, sorry.

I've been wondering for a while what it would look like if Feliks intentionally turned slowly, targeting 10 seconds...
How about this?

But I'm also wondering what it would look like if he did it now.

What kind enough of practice did you do to break your plateau?

Remembering back to the race to sub-30 and sub-20 threads a few years ago I guess I attained sub 20 at a comparable time as others. Age did not seem to effect that progression.

I then reached a plateau at ~17.5 seconds and there I stayed for years. As for how I started improving again I, apart from practice :) ... I always tried to "Slow down and look ahead". However I did not really take into account I turned slowly anyway. If I did an average at look ahead speed and another as fast as I could turn, the speed average was coming out on top so I decided to work on solving as quickly as possible and holding on to look ahead for dear life! :)

It seems to work, where sub 15 Ao5's were rare, I now get a couple of them in each Ao100 as well as Usually getting a sub 15.5 Ao12.

Maybe its the TPS, maybe it trying to do something different and breaking the way I have subconsciously solved for the past few years. It could always be the daily Ao100 but with Ao100's at ~16.3 I am as determined as ever to get sub 15.

Thank you all for your comment they are much appreciated :)
