I wanted to know what subset alg category this would fit into. VLS and Winter Variation have the f2l slot in a different permutation so what would this case fall into? I just wanted to know the alg that would solve this case (F2L and OLL) and how to find more cases with this f2l pair postion.

Hi there! I cannot figure out if these images are a parity or not. Am I doing something wrong? What algorithms should I perform?

What you are doing wrong is not using a reduction method for 4x4. You want to do all of your edge pairing prior to beginning the 3x3 stage. Then it will be easy to see if you have parity or not, and which kind it is

I think most people use a Y-perm conjugate: R' (Y-perm) R.
Mine new one goes: R U' R2' U' R2 U R' F' R U R2' U' R' F R2
or I fall back to my oldie: R' U' R F R2' D' R U R' D R2 U' F'

Any good Leg-1 alg?

P.S. I have a problem trying to use ksolve to generate algs like this. If someone could help that would be great!

I'm using it for OH :) but for 2H...Ouch... destroys my times. I actually really like those
algs :) then it's just abt choosing...

Okay, what do you mean by 'edge pairing'? Like should I pair up the yellow edge pieces, too?

Yes, pair up all of the same colored little edge pieces to form '3x3 edge pieces' as the first part of your solve, so that when you then solve the cube however you solve a 3x3 using only outer slice moves, you wont run into any strange cases like you mentioned. The only two cases you will need to know after that are OLL parity and PLL parity

Okay, I will try that.

For two hands, I use this alg. It's a lot faster than it looks.
R U' R' U R U' r B r' U B2 R B2 R2
If you don't like the B2s, you can do a bit of a rotation to make it easier, but I find the rotation slower (needs a full regrip, whereas the B2 version only needs half a regrip), and it's actually quite easy to fingertrick B2s with a little practice.
R U' R' U R U' L U L' U x' U2 R U2 R2 x
Both ways suck for one handed though.

Wow that's very nice ! :) works great even with B moves ;-) that was just what I was looking for :D
Doesn't matter if it's bad for OH :p allready have a algorithm there ;)

Just realised how many smileys I use... I'm addicted ; -)

Hi,

I recently got into 4x4 cubing, but I'm struggling with remembering a certain algorithm as I usually remember patterns by memorising patterns within it.

The algorithm:
l' U2 l' U2 F2 l' F2 r U2 r' U2 l2

This algorithm swaps two single edge pieces.

Thanks if you can help me! :)
