Ahh...worst turning cube? I recommend the top-secret lubrication blend of two parts blackstrap molasses, one part turpentine, and a generous tablespoon of Himalayan rock salt, Floridian sugar sand, pulverized crushed glass, and a little dash of CA glue. It would be a nice touch to mechanically gear the core in a host of "odd couple" ratios, too, such that one revolution of one side forces, say, a 41.5% revolution of its opposing face, but that's just a nice bonus.

Another thing is that you should make your springs as long and as strong as possible, and you should also make the pieces have absolutely no space in between them to reduce corner cutting.

*Have ill-fitting centre-caps, like '80's cubes, that fall off at the slightest provocation.
*Have stickers with rubbish adhesive, so they slide out of alignment during use, then fall off.
*Have one spring missing on it, so one face is wobbly and uncontrolled, locking up turns on the other faces.
*Use a Dremel or similar tool to grind a sharp edge on the end of all the springs, so the cube makes hideous squeaking spring-noises as it's used.

1. Replace the nails with rusted nails.
2. Take out the springs and replace them with solid cylinders
3. Dip the whole cube into acetone for 24 hours
4. Dry the cube by dipping it into molten iron and cooling it.
5. Lube the cube with superglue
6. Place the nails and the springs that you have taken out into the inside of the cube
