Hi all. I'm new to cubing, and feel like I'm in the Goldilocks story regarding finding the right cube. I started with a Rubik's cube from Target (too stiff) and then got a Ghost Hand (too loose) and I'm looking for something in between. I'm not too worried about speed right now, just something easier to control without locking up so much. I really like my lanlan 2x2, but that might be just because it's smaller and easier to control in general. Any suggestions?

Well i started off with a Rubik's cube as well so i know what u r talking about the stiffness. So i recommend the ShengShou 3x3 or the dayan lingyun v2. Shengshou is pretty good for a beginner to intermediate.
So u should try out the Shengshou first

Frankly, GuHongs and ZhanChis are both great, I'm sure you'd be happy whichever you bought. Then it's just a choice of do you like the look of the black or white plastic. I currently use the 6-colour ZhanChi because I think it looks great, but you can't use them in competitions...so if you went for that you'd need to buy a new cube before entering any comps.
Oh wait, not the last link, that generic cube will probably be rubbish compared to any of the Dayans, unless you're really short on money stay clear of that one.

YJ 5x5 II vs ShengShou 5x5

Hi everybody, I'm new on this forum. I want to know which cube is the best between YJ 5x5 and SS 5x5. I'm not a beginner and my PB at 3x3 is 6.54( PLL skip).

I just recently ordered a Lubix Zhanchi, and it hasn't come in yet. I was also considering the Lubix Guhong V2, but decided on the Zhanchi. I already have a Zhanchi Silk and a cool Guhong v2, but for some reason, they aren't that great anymore. I have tried thoroughly cleaning them and relubing them, I even changed the core and springs on the Guhong, which helped a little, but they still pop and are overall not as good as they used to be. Anyway, I was wondering if my decision of getting the Zhanchi was the right one. Any thoughts?

I guess i'll take a shot at this to see what you guys think.
Currently i'm using a Zhan-chi. I love what it lets me do, but it's like I try to take its sloppiness for granted sometimes and I don't think it works as well with my turning style as i'd like it to.

I need something that won't cut as much, but will not lock ever. Something that will just refuse to put itself in a position to get caught up on itself.

i've heard the Lunhui has a very different feel than the zhan chi
should I maybe try that?

Also, I need something that's good for big hands xP

I already own a guhong and an AV....guhoung's a bit locky for me, I like the AV, but alas, it's tiny :p and poppy.

Is there a dayan that's comparable in feel to the AV?
Something that feels bubbly/deliciously tactile? (though i'd say AV is 'crisp')

I'm pretty sure the non-locking is related to the cutting.
If you want something closer to the AV - Mmm, maybe a LingYun? The LunHui is like a slightly heavier LingYun (which is the opposite direction from an AV).

Weight doesn't exactly matter, it's the 'feel' of the cube that i'm going for. Is the lunhui 'crunchy'?
