Hey
I'm cubing for a half year now and i'm averaging about 13-14s, i want to get sub 10 as soon as possible, but i don't know how i can get better now... I know my last layer is 5,5 seconds, but how can i practice last layer and pll, because i cannot solve some plls sub 2 :) and should i learn 2 side pll recognition?

Quick question..
I've been using Cubemania to record averages, etc. I noticed something interesting.. The averages that Cubemania reports seem to be inconsistent with input times.
Here's an example:
1:12.63 min, 1:25.09 min, 1:37.01 min, 1:20.69 min, 1:43.21 min are reported as 1:27.60 min average, yet (72.63s + 85.09s + 97.01s + 80.69s + 103.21s)/5 = 87.726s, or 1:27.73 min. (If rounding up applies. If not, 1:27.72 min.). I double-checked to make sure I wasn't doing my math wrong..
Explain, please?

How to fix Maru 4x4 misalignment permanently?

I have a maru 4x4 and it has been misaligning every single solve, and more then once during a solve(4 or 5 times). I know how to fix the problem on the spot but I was wondering does anybody know a way or mod to fix it permanently so I don't have to deal with it every time I turn the inner layers of the cube.

Averages generally exclude the best and worst time and take the mean of the remaining 3 times (for an average of 5). The mean time would be what you calculated, not the average.

So for your example the average time excludes the best and worst (72.63s and 103.21s) and the mean of the remaining 3 is: (85.09 + 97.01 + 80.69)/3=87.60s=1:27.60

Also when doing larger averages I believe additional times are excluded (for average of 50 I believe best/worst 3 times are excluded, for average of 100 best/worst 5 times are excluded etc.)

i'm training fridrich method,with 4LLL.
current maximum result is 53 secs.
i wonder how can i decrease that time to 40 seconds
i spend about 13-16 seconds on cross,30-45 seconds on f2l and about 12-16 seconds on 4LLL
= )
also i want to know,if there are cases on orienting edges in last layer, when none of the cases given in instructions of 4LLL are present = )

You need to practise your cross and f2l.

After that you are sub-40 or somthing it can be good to start learning full PLL.

yeah,i'm planning to learn ful PLL
You need to practise your cross and f2l.
and what would be a good result for me on cross and f2l ?
(considering my time....)
{just to know,where i reached my limit and i gotta concentrate on full pll,etc....}

Definitely cross, then F2L.

I'm sub-30 with 4LLL.
