in my case, keeping 200 plus algorithms up to speed finger and recog wise is just not practical for me.

I actually believe that it is, I think that you just need to go about it a different way.

If you learn 200 algorithms and attempt to use them in your solves straight away, of course you will not be able to. Chris Tran syndrome. I think there is something to be said for learning something and not using it at all in timed solves. Practising the technique outside of speedsolving should improve the technique without side effects to the point where you start to use it in solves without extra overhead. Have you tried this?

It may take a long time, but should prove to be a problematic free implementation of a large algorithm set.

Well I have to agree with Kirjava here. A 200 algorithm set or anything of that sort can be mastered in the long term, just needs lot of patience and untimed solves practice.
Whoever you are, however much you are not into memorising, this will work. But yes, it will also be a big investment of time so go for it only if you feel its worth it. Just saying what i believe

Also, I would love to see your COLL algs; I have been looking for a good set

My vote is for blockbuilding. Work on trypod/heise/snyder and all those method that try to achieve f2l-1 slot in fewest moves, then multi angle oll/pll, coll/epll, zblls with a complete bar on a side (extremely fast recogn), and then just divide your training. Tps on one side, look ahead on the other through slow solves, blindfolded solves, etc (by blindfolded I mean, try to recognize as much as you can, then close your eyes and solve as much as you can, look for patterns, etc).

Seriously, are you doing x-cross in 1 of 5 solves?

Couldn't you do cross/x-cross videos?

I really like your other videos, so it would be very nice if you could do that:)

I voted for block-building for x-crosses and such because it has a strong synergy with color-neutrality, which you practice.

I didn't see "multi-slotting" as a poll option. It's a deep, poorly researched subject and so maybe there's nothing to be done for it but to wait until better info becomes available. Somewhere between "basic tricks" and "God's scary solutions to random cases" lies an actual methodology/system.

Good luck, jskyler! I believe you can attain your goal one day. :)

Oh, I agree as well, I just have no desire to be that type of cuber, nor do I think I need that to achieve my goal. I know that I will likely plateau/ reach MY maximum potential long before the possible gains for ZB would come up. Basically, I have only a few more things that I need to max myself out and ZB is the same as COLL to me, neither one will inherently make me faster. I don't think I am explaining this well, but basically I will max out my speed likely due to tps and lookahead far before I do it because of the amount of algs I know. Therefore I just won't waste my time learning them if they won't ever help me to get faster.

True, but as I state above, means very little to me in terms of my goal.

because they are generally the worst subset of plls.

Agreed

Thanks, I can definitely look into doing one, although I am not the best at doing them yet so the knowledge i give you now may not be what I actually do when I get faster.

I'm having a hard time understanding your mentality here. You think you're going to "max out your potential" at some point, so you're going to.. force it to happen earlier?

But what I don't understand is that you say you want to stop learning more at some point and just focus on TPS and lookahead. We all do this. We learn a certain amount, then focus on getting comfortable with it by focusing on TPS and lookahead. Once it's become a natural part of the solve you just need to find something else to improve on or add, and then repeat the process of making it a natural part of your solves.

Can't vote in this, but whatever you choose and how you get on will be usefull information to me and future cubers, so good luck and keep us updated.
Fascinating thread btw.
