I just got a non-lucky 9.88 (First ever sub10) with this scramble:F' R' U' L' B2 U' D R' D2 L' R' F' U2 B2 U' F' D B2 U D2 B F2 L' B' U2
I average like 17-18.
I've often pondered over the community's views on issues at large. Personally, I am a Democrat that would appreciate if Obama would grow a spine, although it is starting to seem like that has happened over the last few days of negotiations.
Didn't go to nationals last year, but I probably will this year. Also, I'm bringing a friend of mine who never has been to a competition and until recently fell out of cubing. We're headed up from Raleigh, so it'll be quite the car ride. Anyone know how to cube while on the road and not get carsick?
I learned from my 7th grade math teacher. No, seriously. After EOGs (our finals) we had like a week or so to kill so he taught the class how to solve one with a method slightly less reprehensible than pogobat's. Then, like 3 years later (I taught myself to solve a 5x5) I learned 2LOLL from...
I just got my first ever sub 20 avg of 100. I'm doing 128 solves a day in order to do ten thousand total by the time nationals come around, and I think I just punched through the sub20 barrier.
When do you consider yourself sub [insert benchmark here]? I'm doing 128 solves a day (I'm trying to do ten thousand by nationals), and I just got an avg of 45 that was sub20. For me, I'm surprised I'm even sub22. I generally say it's when you can get an avg12 that is consistently below that...
My math teacher back in 7th grade taught everyone to solve a cube at the end of the year, so I've known how to solve one since May 2007. I started trying to get faster in November 2009.
Now I'm about to go to my 2nd competition (DC winter) and I really want sub 20 or at least sub 22 by then. I...
red on top, white on right:
Cross: U F L B2
F2L1: U2 R' U R
F2L2: y U R' U R
F2L3: L' U L U2 y R' U' R
F2L4: U R U' R' U' y' R' U2 l U' R' U x (partial edge control is the reason for the weird insertion)
OLL: U' (R U R' U') R' F R2 U R' U' F'
PLL: U' R' U' R y' R2 u R' U R U' R u' R2 U

First sub 15 single evar: 14.80
also, in a new pb avg of 18.86.
That be pretty BA, considering I avg like 23. I WANT SUB 20. GRRRRRR. I used to almost have it then I took a 3 month break and got CN.
I AM BACK....
I stopped after my first competition in October (Virginia Open), with the promise that I would be CN before the new year. Well, its 2011, and I can say I am officially CN. Before I was on the verge of being sub20, now I'm consistently getting some solid 23's. My lookahead is...
Me: That's just what I do, I solve Rubik's cubes *scrambles*
Some girl at my girlfriend's church: really?
Me: yes, really *does a few OH twists*
Her: one handed? (sarcasm)
Me: sure *solves cube OH*
it wasn't my OH cube, just some crappy store-bought, but it was hilarious all the same
a = first initial. stands for Alexander
d = middle initial. stands for Dean
foote = last name. It's pronounced just "foot." which is a tip off if a telemarketer ever calls me they ALWAYS pronounce it wrong.
my mom is okay with it, except if i practice for like more than 2-3 hours. my dad is meh about it. im allowed to order cubes like once a month.
my friends dad is like WAY into it. he cant cube himself, but every time my friend gets a new pb hes like (insert censored language here) YEA
in 7th grade, after the EOC(exam) in my pre-algebra class there was this one kid that brought in a cube one day, and the teacher remembered that he could solve it. next thing i know theres maybe 15-20 "communal" cubes that kids that dont have cubes of their own could use. I got my own cube and...
just finished like my 4th or 5th ever bld attempt like an hour ago. i didnt time it,and i kinda cheated by writing down my memo on a piece of paper then memorizing from that.
DNF, two edges were flipped. thats it. just a R U (M' U M' U M' U2 M U M U M U2) U' R' away. grrr
i can do just the...
