Hi everyone. I took a little hiatus from cubing and coming back it looks like a lot of interesting new puzzles have come out. Particularly interested in the new 4x4s. I'm a huge fan of the Gan Air SM but I still regard the original Wuque as the best 4x4 of all time. So the question becomes -...
a) You are the designer, you should be deciding which manufacturing partner gives you the best opportunity to bring your idea to market and targeting them, not asking the community.
b) You keep listing off these major manufacturers like they are lining up to work with you. Based on what...
It's over a year later and you haven't even made a social media account for your brand yet? No wonder you haven't heard back from any manufacturers yet... they are not going to take you seriously unless you take your brand and products seriously and represent them in a professional manner.
I...
A couple other tips that might help you:
Make sure the puzzle is tensioned evenly all around. If even one side is looser than the others it can cause a lot of catching and lockups. You can also take the puzzle apart and look to make sure the hardware and core aren't damaged. It is unlikely...
My 2 cents:
Gans RSC is a cool collectible but there are MUCH better beginner speedcubes out there. If you are on a $20 budget I would just pass on Gans entirely for now if I were you. MoFang JiaoShi has the best budget speedcube lineup at the moment. Spend $8 now on an MF3RS2 stickerless...
OP, how experienced are you with 6x6? I have a Yuxin Red and a Wuhua V1. I'm not very good on either but the Wuhua seems to have much more frustrating catches and lockups. I haven't really spent much time practicing though, so I've always chocked it up to being inexperienced with big cubes...
To answer your first question the MF3RS2 M is probably the best choice out of those three and will give you the most bang for your buck. A plain GTS 2 seems kinda pointless today. If I were you I wouldn't worry so much about the "speed" of a cube. You can set up any cube to be faster or...
I have a Wuhua V1 and it catches constantly. Take that with a grain of salt though because I'm also just really bad at turning big cubes so it could mostly be my technique (or lack thereof). Major thing to consider IMO is puzzle size. Both the Wuhua and Aoshi are 67mm versus the 65mm Yuxin Red.
I have never tried the Thunderclap 4x4, let alone a magnetic version so I can't comment on that. But there's a reason pretty much everyone uses the Wuque - it's the best 4x4 on the market. If you are worried about the puzzle not having magnets, you can add them yourself for cheap and it's a...
For someone at your stage, I would say yes the MF3RS2 is a better cube. Top cubers liked the GTS V1 because it's super fast and light, but it is very flexible and unstable, making it a difficult (if not unusable) beginner cube. I've been cubing for a couple years and still find it difficult to...
The vast majority of cubes are made in China. There are no mass-produced speedcubes made in the USA. If you see an Amazon seller that claims to be, they are just modifying/repackaging a Chinese cube.
There is no clear winner in terms of durability per se, but for a beater I'd suggest a budget...
Yeah there aren't many new ones, but there are definitely some good 57mm still out there.
First that come to mind are the YJ Chilong and Yulong. Both are less than $8 and listed at 57mm. Not amazing by today's standards but definitely usable and quite good in their time. Note: stay away...
I don't think there really is anything in the current lineup that really feels like a Thunderclap. To me, the Yuexiao Pro is kinda like a spiritual successor to the Aolong/Thunderclap style of puzzle but to me it feels more like a MUCH better X-man Tornado than anything. I haven't tried a Valk...
MF3RS2, absolutely no question.
The Thunderclap V1 was like the last good cube from the "Aolong era". It held its own against the Aolong, Hualong, Meiying, etc. but IMO it's just not good when compared to today's designs. The MF3RS2 is going to outperform it in almost every way. The only...
Xinghen is my favorite 2x2 still and I absolutely love the Valk 3 but they aren't really alike. The Xinghen has buttery plastic and an overall soft and springy turning feel, whereas my Valks have always felt hard, clacky, and dense.
Stability is really important to me too. The only thing that has really worked for me is magnets. Currently my main is a Gan Air SM on tight tensions and it's by far the best cube I've ever used. If magnetic cubes are outside your budget, buying a set of magnets and glue and making a DIY...
Crushed my 3x3 PB's tonight in an insane session
15.53 single (previous was 16.04 set on Christmas Eve, previous before that was a 16.44 set over a year ago)
19.63 ao5 (first sub-20 ao5 ever, feels pretty good)
20.12 ao12 (first sub-22 ao12 ever, which is huge)
Really stoked on the times I've...
